TITLE: APPOINTMENTS TO THE BALBOA VILLAGE ADVISORY
COMMITTEE (BVAC)
ABSTRACT:
At the September 25, 2012 City Council meeting, the City Clerk was directed to
advertise and accept applications for the Balboa Village Advisory Committee (BVAC).
RECOMMENDATION:
a) Waive a portion of City Council Policy A -2 (Board and Commission
Appointments);
b) Confirm the City Council's appointment to the Balboa Peninsula Point
Homeowners Association position on BVAC.
DISCUSSION:
The City received an application from Gloria Oakes to fill the seat to represent the
Balboa Peninsula Point Homeowners Association.
Since this seat only has one applicant and if it is the desire of the City Council, it is
appropriate to waive the portion of City Council Policy A -2 which requires the City
Council to consider two or more applicants per seat in order to make an appointment.
