Alleys that terminate on the ocean front may be improved under the following
conditions:
I. All improvements will be installed at the expense of the adjacent
property owners in accordance with specifications and plans approved
by the City.
2. All work will be installed to grades established by the Public Works
Department.
3. All improvements will extend from the nearest street or alley improve-
ment to the northerly line of the ocean front.
4. Landscaping or potted plants will be permitted in the portion of the
alley right -of -way that terminates at the ocean front sidewalk in
accordance with plans approved by the City. A six -foot wide, invit-
ing passageway will be maintained for pedestrian access. All land-
scaping will be maintained by the adjacent property owner to the
satisfaction of the City.
5. Where vehicles will travel, alleys may be surfaced with brick, asphalt,
concrete or equivalent surfacing, subject to City approval.
6. Where pedestrians will travel, the six -foot passageway may be surfaced
with sand, brick set in sand, asphalt or concrete, subject to City
approval.
7. All improvements not meeting the requirements for Standard Public
Works Construction will be maintained by the adjacent property
owner to the satisfaction of the City.
8. Applications for street -end improvement will be filed with the Parks,
Beaches & Recreation Department.
