TEMPORARY BANNERS EXTENDING OVER THE PUBLIC RIGHT -OF -WAY
In addition to the provisions of Municipal Code sections dealing with
Temporary Signs" and "Cloth Signs," and in conformance with Council
Policy L -6, it is the policy of the City that temporary banners extending
over the public right -of -way shall be subject to the following:
1. Such banners shall not be attached to lamp posts.
2. The messages displayed on such banners shall be of
a public service nature, dealing with nonprofit or
noncommercially related activities within the City.
3. Such banners shall not create or cause any undue
hazards in relation to the safety and well -being
of motorists, as a result of their location,
method of installation or any other factor.
4. Such banners shall not remain in place for a period
exceeding seven (7) days, unless authorization for
a longer installation period is granted by the
City Council.
