Dear Newport Beach City Council Members,
Please allow me to begin by Thanking each of you for your Service to our Community. Very Much Appreciate your
Commitment to the Better Good of our City and our Community.
Thank You for making this a better place to Live!
As the Owner of 2 Properties on River Avenue in Newport Beach, I would like to express my Complete Support of the
Undergrounding of the Utilities and getting rid of the Utility Pales on our Sidewalks and Streets that make our Streets and
Community look like something from a Third World Country! Or, look at some of the old photos of Newport Beach from 75
years ago. Wires and Pales Everywhere!! Looks the same today! Terrible!!!
The Above Ground Utility Poles and Electrical Wires present not only an Eyesore to this World Famous Destination
Vacation and Tourist Community but more importantly present a Hazard and Safety Issues for Residents and for
Emergency First Responders in the case of a Tsunami, Earthquake, Flooding or other Emergency. These Poles and
above ground Utilities and Electrical Wires could prevent Emergency evacuation and rescue efforts from happening when
needed all due to these poles and wires being above ground. Emergency Vehicles could Not get down our Streets to
provide necessary Emergency Services.
In addition, this only makes Good Financial Sense to all the Residents to join up and get this done now to improve our
entire community.

Bottom Line......These Poles Have GOT TO GO!!!
