CURRENT BUSINESS CLARIFICATION OF ITEMS ON THE CONSENT CALENDAR. (4:00 P.M.) 2. UPDATE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN. (4:10 P.M.) Katie Eing, the City's Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, will brief the public and City Council about the community's updated emergency operations plan. The plan is a comprehensive document required by State and Federal officials that sets forth what City staff and others are directed to do in a variety of emergencies (earthquakes, tsunamis, plane crashes, wildfires, floods and more). 3. CITY COUNCIL REDISTRICTING. (4:40 P.M.) The City Council is elected by all of the voters of Newport Beach, but run from each of the seven Council districts. City Council's committee on redistricting has been meeting in public settings to review and recommend various concepts for the once - every- decade Council redistricting process. At this Study Session, the Council and public will review and discuss the Committee's recommended plan(s). New districts must be adopted by ordinance, meaning that two formal votes would have to occur before final adoption of any one plan. III. PUBLIC COMMENTS Public comments are invited on Closed Session Agenda items, as reflected in Item Il - Closed Session of the Regular Meeting agenda, and on non - agenda items generally considered to be within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Council. Speakers must limit comments to three (3) minutes. Before speaking, please state your name for the record. IV. ADJOURNMENT The City provides a yellow sign -in card to assist in the preparation of the minutes. The completion of the card is not required in order to address the Council. Speakers must limit comments to five (5) minutes on agenda items. The Council has the discretion to extend or shorten the time limit on agenda or non - agenda items. As a courtesy, please turn cell phones off or set them in the silent mode. Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the City Council regarding any item on this agenda will be made available for public inspection in the Office of the City Clerk located at 3300 Newport Boulevard during normal business hours. In addition, such writings and documents will be posted on the City's website at www.newoortbeachca.eov This meeting is subject to the Ralph M. Brown Act. Among other things, the Brown Act requires that the agenda be posted at least 72 hours in advance of each meeting and that the public be allowed to comment on agenda items before the City Council and items not on the agenda but are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council. The City Council may limit public comments to a reasonable amount of time, generally either three (3) or five (5) minutes per person. It is the intention of the City of Newport Beach to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in all respects. If, as an attendee or a participant at this meeting, you will need special assistance beyond what is normally provided, the City of Newport Beach will attempt to accommodate you in every reasonable manner.
