REQUEST FOR CONTINUANCES <br />VI. CONSENT ITEMS <br />ITEM NO. 1 MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 8, 2018 <br />Recommended Action: Approve and file <br />VII. STUDY SESSION <br />ITEM NO. 2 Newport Crossings Mixed Use Project (PA2017-107) <br />Site Location: 1701 Corinthian Way <br />Summary: <br />Development of a mixed-use residential project consisting of 350 residential dwelling units, <br />7,500 square feet of commercial space, and a 0.5 -acre public park. An existing commercial <br />center called MacArthur Square that is located on the 5.7 -acre project site would be demolished. <br />Project implementation requires the approval of the Site Development Review, Lot Line <br />Adjustment and Affordable Housing Implementation Plan. <br />VIII. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS: <br />ITEM NO. 3 E Art Gallery (PA2018-177) <br />Site Location: 2721 East Coast Highway, Suite 104 <br />Summary: <br />A request for a minor use permit to operate a tattoo studio (Personal Services, Restricted land <br />use) and art gallery with art classes, within an existing commercial tenant space. Proposed <br />hours of operation would be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00, p.m., daily. <br />Recommended Action: <br />1. Conduct a public hearing; <br />2. Find this project exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to <br />Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) of the CEQA Guidelines, because it has no potential to have a <br />significant effect on the environment; and <br />3. Adopt Resolution No. PC2018-032 approving Minor Use Permit No. UP2018-014. <br />2of3 <br />
