RESOLUTION 2412 -114 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NEWPORT BEACH EXTENDING THE <br />TERM OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />COMMITTEE ON TIDELANDS <br />MANAGEMENT <br />WHEREAS, on March 8, 2011, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach <br />adopted Resolution No. 2011 -26 establishing the City Council Committee on Tidelands <br />Management ("Committee"); <br />WHEREAS, the City Council charged the Committee with establishing a long <br />term vision for the tidelands, including the upper bay, lower bay, beaches and other <br />major components; <br />WHEREAS, on June 12, 2012, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2012 -44 <br />expanding the membership of the Citizens Advisory Panel from five members to eight; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the important work of the Committee is not yet completed and would <br />benefit from a short term extension. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby <br />resolves as follows: <br />Section 1: The term of the City Council Committee on Tidelands Management <br />shall be extended to March 31, 2013 as provided in the attachment to this resolution, <br />which is incorporated by reference. <br />Section 2: The City Council hereby repeals all previous resolutions, or portions <br />thereof, related to the City Council Committee on Tidelands Management that are in <br />conflict with this resolution. <br />Section 3: The City Council find this action is not subject to the California <br />Environmental Quality Act ( "CEQA ") pursuant to Sections 15060(c)(2) (the activity will <br />not result in a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the <br />environment) and 15060(c)(3) (the activity is not a project as defined in Section 15378) <br />of the CEQA Guidelines, California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Chapter 3, because it <br />has no potential for resulting in physical change to the environment, directly or <br />indirectly. <br />
