A Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newpor Beach declaring their intention to order the improvement of certain portions of Ocean Avenue, and to change the grade of certain portions thereof under the Improvement Act o`' 1911. On motion of Trustee Geo. P. Wilson seconded by Trustee J. Schnitker the foregoing Resolution_ was adopted by the following vote, ;o -wit: Ayes, Trustees J. P. Greeley, Conrad Richter, foes, Trustees None. Absent, Trustees None. J. J. Schnitker, Geo. P. :7i1sor}, 0. ?t. 3u.rke. I City Engineer Kressly presented the plan and profile of the orce main from the pup., ping plant to the reservoir, and on motion of 'rustee 0. II. Burke seconded by Trustee Geo. P. ldilson and carried, ;he City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids on the work and iaterial necessary for the proposed water works extension, the sar^.e ;o be opened three weeks from tonight, Llarch 27, 1922. The communication from C. R. Chapman in regard to vacating ome strips in Section 5 of Balboa Island was laid over for nvestigation. On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded b�, Trustee C.I` urke and carried, that demands No. 628 to 720 inclusive having been igned and approved by the Finance Committee, be allowed and warrsnts raven for same. Trustee Conrad Richter introduced a proposed Ordinance rdering the submission_ to the qualified voters of the City of TTewpor each the proposition of incurrin€ a bonded debt in the sum of ;p25,00 or the completion of the municipal gas distributing system of the ity of Newport Beach, and calling an election for that purpose. Burke and carried, the commur_ication from A. W. Jackson in regard to putting the ladder on the tee instead of the mi(4011e of the Main Street :,harf at Balboa, was placed. in the hands of the City Engineer with power to act. �yhe motion of Trustee Conrad Richter seconded by Trustee '.�. Schnitker tn`at we set aside out of the general -fund about 01,000.00 for bringing the Publi^ Park up to grade, was laid on the table for t two weeks, and the Para Committee was instructed to look up trays and means for accomplishing it. On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Ge d. P. ;;'ilson and carried, the resignation of Frank J. Knight as Street Superintendent was accepted. On motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee 0.11. Pur'ae and carried, Frank ,. Rinehart was appointed Street Superintendent, Some ;natters pertaining to the new sewer system were discussed and settled, and on motion of Trustee J. J. Schnitker seconded by Trustee Geo. P. UNFINISHED BUSINESS. i ORDINANCE NO. 195, entitled as follows: "An Ordinance of the City of Newport Beach by the legislative branch thereof, to -wit: the Board of Trustees, ordering the submission to the qualified voters of the City of Newport Beach the proposition of incurring; a I bonded debt for the purpose set forth in Resolution I:o. I 154 of the said City, calling a special election for j that purpose, reciting the objects and purposes for wrap the indebtedness is proposed to be incurred, the estimated cost of the proposed public improvement, the amount of the principal of the indebtedness to be incurred thereto , and fixing a maximum rate of interest to be paid on said indebtedness, fixing the day on which 6ucil apeciai election shall be held, the manner of holding such election, ar<d the voting for or against incurring such indebtedness, and providing that in all particulars not recited in this Ordinance, such election shall be held as provided by law for holding municipal elections in the City of I?etrport Beach ", came up for final action, was read and considered; the -roll was called and fro Ordinance -ryas passed by the vote of the following nrme -_' nem')ers of the 3oard of Trustees: 1
