HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/27/1948 - Regular Meeting190 December 27, 1945 The City Council of the City of Newport Beach met in regular session in the City Council Chambers at the City Hall at the hour of 7:30 o'clock, P.M., with Mayor Drake presiding. The roll was called, the following Councilmen answering present' Greeley, Robertson, Blue, and Drake. Councilman Isbell being absent. The Mayor asked if any of the Councilmen, or anyone in the audience, wished the minutes of the previous meeting:- or any part thereof, read. No one responded and on motion of Councilman Robertson, seconded by Councilman Greeley and carried, the reading of the minutes was dispensed with. The Clerk reported that there were no reports of Heads of Bepartments, Special Committees or Standing Committees to be acted upon. COMMUNICATIONS: Resignation of George The resignation of Patrolman George W. Galihan, for voluntary r. Calihan, voluntary retirement after having completed twenty years of service in the Police retirement, accepted. Department, effective December 31st, was read, and on motion of Council- man Robertson, seconded by Councilman Blue, and carried, the resignation was accepted subject to the approval of the Chief of Police.
