SUBJECT: BUILDING MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR CITY 1ARD

APPROVED
The contract with the company providing building maintenance services
for the City Yard will soon be cancelled due to generally
unsatisfactory performance by the present contractor. In addition,
the company recently gave notice of its intent to raise the service
fee to $1,491 per month. The City was paying $1,448.00 per month for
this service prior to August 1, 1989.
A bid was received from Ed Building Maintenance Company to provide the
same services for $1,450.00 per month. Ed Building Company is
currently providing services for our City Hall complex including the
Council Chambers and the Professional and Technical Building as well
as the City libraries. They have been in business since 1965, have a
good reputation and I have been favorably impressed by their services.
Attached are copies of the bid proposal and a proposed contract.
Recommendation:
Approve the award of a contract for building maintenance services for
the City Yard to the to amild ag at a cost of
$1,450 per month.
