I <br />Y <br />ORDINANCE NO. 169. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF' <br />NEWPORT BEACH DECLARINGI <br />IT TO BE A MISDEMEANOR FOR <br />ANY PERSON OR PERSONS TO <br />MAKE, LIGHT, OR CAUSE TO HE <br />I <br />MADE OR LIGHTED, CERTAIN <br />FIRES WITHIN THE CITY OFI. <br />i NEWPORT. BEACH, AND PRE -; <br />V SCRI13ING A PENALTY FOR ALLI, <br />I VIOLATIONS THEREOF. <br />I The Board of Trustees of the Cii� of l <br />Newport Beach do ordain as follows: <br />Section 1. It is hereby declared to <br />be a misdemeanor for any person or <br />I <br />parsone to make or light, or cause to <br />be made or lighted, any fire outside of <br />a building or structure for the burning. <br />Hof any trash, rubbish or other sub•' <br />stance, or any fire commonly called aI <br />bon -fire, within that portion of the City <br />of Newport Beach which is bounded as <br />follows: <br />Commencing at a point where thel <br />{.center line of '-B" Street produced in -' <br />. tersects the line of ordinary high tide'. <br />,in Newport Bay: thence southerly <br />along and pursuing the center line oft <br />Isaid "B" Street to a point where the <br />center line of said "B" Street pro -' <br />duced intersects a line parallel witli l <br />and 30 ft. southerly of the southerly <br />line of the boardwalk on the shore of <br />i the Pacific Ocean; thence westerly <br />`pursuing said line to a point where <br />said line intersects the center line of <br />Adams Street produced; thence north- <br />erly along the center line of Adams <br />I Street to a point where said center line' <br />produced intersects the line of ordi- <br />nary high tide in Newport Bay; thence <br />easterly pursuing the line of ordinary <br />high tide in Newport Bay to the point <br />i of beginning. <br />Section 2. Any person or persons <br />who shall commit any act declared in <br />Section 1 of this Ordinance to be a <br />misdemeanor shall be punished by a <br />fine of Rot exceeding $25.00, or by im- <br />prisonment for a period not exceeding <br />ten days, or by both such fine and im <br />prisonment in the discretion of the <br />court. <br />Section 3. The above and foregoing, <br />Ordinance shall be published once in <br />the Newport News, a newspaper of; <br />general circulation, printed, published i <br />and circulated in the City of Newport <br />Beach, and shall take effect and be In <br />iforce thirty days after Its final passage. <br />Ordinance No. 169 was passed at a <br />r,%,qular meeting of the Board of True: <br />tee's of the City of Newport Beach held <br />on the 19th day of July, 1920, by the <br />affirmative vote of the following <br />named members of said Board of i <br />Trustees.^ <br />Ayes— Trpstees J. P. Greeley, J. J. <br />Schnitker, L. S. Wilkinson, Conrad'I <br />Richter. <br />Noes —None. <br />Absent — Trustee Art L.
