AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF' NEWPORT BEACH DECLARINGI IT TO BE A MISDEMEANOR FOR ANY PERSON OR PERSONS TO MAKE, LIGHT, OR CAUSE TO HE I MADE OR LIGHTED, CERTAIN FIRES WITHIN THE CITY OFI. i NEWPORT. BEACH, AND PRE -; V SCRI13ING A PENALTY FOR ALLI, I VIOLATIONS THEREOF. I The Board of Trustees of the Cii� of l Newport Beach do ordain as follows: Section 1. It is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor for any person or I parsone to make or light, or cause to be made or lighted, any fire outside of a building or structure for the burning. Hof any trash, rubbish or other sub•' stance, or any fire commonly called aI bon -fire, within that portion of the City of Newport Beach which is bounded as follows: Commencing at a point where thel {.center line of '-B" Street produced in -' . tersects the line of ordinary high tide'. ,in Newport Bay: thence southerly along and pursuing the center line oft Isaid "B" Street to a point where the center line of said "B" Street pro -' duced intersects a line parallel witli l and 30 ft. southerly of the southerly line of the boardwalk on the shore of i the Pacific Ocean; thence westerly `pursuing said line to a point where said line intersects the center line of Adams Street produced; thence north- erly along the center line of Adams I Street to a point where said center line' produced intersects the line of ordi- nary high tide in Newport Bay; thence easterly pursuing the line of ordinary high tide in Newport Bay to the point i of beginning. Section 2. Any person or persons who shall commit any act declared in Section 1 of this Ordinance to be a misdemeanor shall be punished by a fine of Rot exceeding $25.00, or by im- prisonment for a period not exceeding ten days, or by both such fine and im prisonment in the discretion of the court. Section 3. The above and foregoing, Ordinance shall be published once in the Newport News, a newspaper of; general circulation, printed, published i and circulated in the City of Newport Beach, and shall take effect and be In iforce thirty days after Its final passage. Ordinance No. 169 was passed at a r,%,qular meeting of the Board of True: tee's of the City of Newport Beach held on the 19th day of July, 1920, by the affirmative vote of the following named members of said Board of i Trustees.^ Ayes— Trpstees J. P. Greeley, J. J. Schnitker, L. S. Wilkinson, Conrad'I Richter. Noes —None. Absent — Trustee Art L. Heard.
