CHINES, AND PROVIDING A PEN- ALTY FOR THE YON•PAYIIENT OF S:CID LICENSE. I The Board of Trustees of the city i lot Newport Beach do ordain as fol- loa:s:— Section 1. The words "vending maclihie" as used in tllis ordinance are intended to mean, shall mean, and embrac, and at all times and places be held, construed to mean and em-1 brace any mechanical contrivance, `apparatus or machine which, by the operation thereof, releases or dis- charges any article of merchandise to or for the rise and benefit of the per- son operating the same. and which is operated: by the placing therein of any coin, disk, sing, ball, or other ob- ject. Section 2. This Ordinance was passed at a regular meeting of the Board of Trus -I tees of the city of Newport Beach held on the 17th day of Novetuber, 1924, by the aftirmative vote of the follow- ing named members thereof: AYES, Tvnstees, Geo.
