March 4, 11, 18, 19:6. <br />ORDNANCE NO. 938. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY <br />OF NEWPORT BEACH AMEND. <br />ING SECTION I OF ORDO. <br />ANCE NO. 188 OF SAID CITY. <br />The Board of Trustees of the <br />city of Newport Beach do ordain <br />as follows: <br />SECTION 1. <br />Section 1 of Ordinance No. 182 <br />of the city of Newport Beach is <br />hereby amended so as to read as <br />follows: <br />SECTION 1. <br />There Shall he a Building Iu- <br />Spector and such assistant in- <br />spectors as the Board of Trustees <br />may deem necessary, appointed by <br />and holding office at the pleasure <br />of the Board. <br />It shall be the duty of the <br />Building Inspector to make such <br />inspections as may be necessary to <br />;see that the provisions of this <br />Ordinance and the Tenement <br />House Act, Hotel and Lodging <br />House Act, and Dwelling House <br />Act, all of the State of California, <br />are complied with. It shall be <br />the further duty of the Building <br />Inspector to bring action in the <br />proper Court against any party or <br />parties who violate the provisions <br />of this Ordinance or the above <br />mentioned Acts of the State of <br />California with the purpose of <br />having such ,party or parties pen- <br />alized as provided for in the sev- <br />eral statutes. <br />The Building Inspector is here- <br />by given authority to enter any <br />building in the City of Newport <br />Beach to the performance of his <br />duties, and is further given auth- <br />ority to order and compel the <br />suspensions of any or all work or <br />the occupancy of any building on <br />which any work is being done, or <br />which is being occupied in viola - <br />tiou of the provisions of this Or- <br />dinauce, or the above mentioned <br />acts of the State of California. <br />The Building Inspector and the <br />assistant building inspectors shall_ <br />receive sucfi—remuueration as the, <br />Board of Trustees of the city of <br />Newport Beach shall from time to' <br />time decide upon. <br />SECTION 2. <br />The above and foregoing Ordiu- <br />ance shall be printed and publish- <br />ed once in NEWPORT NEWS, a <br />newspaper of general circulation <br />printed, published and circulated <br />in the city of Newport Beach and <br />shall take effect and be In force <br />thirty (30) days after its passage. <br />The above and foregoing Ordiu- <br />auce was passed at a regular meet- <br />ing of the Board of Trustees held <br />'on the 1st day of February, 1926,) <br />by the vote of the following named <br />members thereof: <br />Ayes, Trustees WILSON, SLOAN, <br />YOUNG, RICHTER, WILKINSON. <br />Noes, Trustees NONE. <br />Absent, Trustees NONE. <br />The above and foregoing Ordiu -I <br />ance is signed and approved by me <br />this let day of February, 1926. <br />GEO.
