ORDINANCE N0. 299. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY <br />OF NF.VIPORT BEACH AMEND. <br />ING SECTION 2 OF ORDIN- <br />AN'C'E N'O. S5 OF SAID CITY. <br />The Board of Trustees of the <br />City of Newport Beach do ordain <br />as follows: <br />SECTION 1. <br />Section 2 of Ordinance No. 85 is <br />hereby amended so as to read as <br />follows: <br />SECTION 2. <br />It shall be unlawful for any per- <br />son. firm or corporation conduct- <br />ing any billiard or pool room to <br />allow the same to remain open or <br />Jo transact the business therein <br />of permitting persons to play at <br />any',pgcl or' billiard table fiber, <br />between the hour of I o'clock A. M. <br />And the hour of 6 o'clock A. M. of <br />the same. day.' <br />SECTION 3. <br />This ordinance shall take effect <br />and be in force thirty days after <br />its.passagwand in.tbe meantime, it <br />`shall be printed and published <br />onve to the Newport News, a <br />weekly newspaper printed, pub - <br />lisiieH and circulated in the City of <br />Newport Beach. <br />The above and foregoing Ordin -', <br />ance No. 299 was passed at a <br />regular meeting of the Board of <br />Trustees of the City of Newport <br />Beach held on the 17th day of May, <br />1926 by the fallowing vote: <br />Ayes, Trustees — WILKINSON, <br />MODJESIiA, YOUNG, WILLIAM - <br />SON, RICHTER. <br />Noes. ' city of Newport Beach do ordain! <br />The Board of Trustees of the <br />City of Newport Beach do ordain, <br />as follows: <br />SECTION 1. <br />The annual license for all auto - <br />mobile busses operated in the City; <br />( of Newport Beach for the carryin -' <br />iof passengers, freight or express) <br />matter for hire, is hereby fixed <br />as follows: For the first bus be -! <br />longing to or operated by any per-' <br />son, firm or corporation, $25.00,i <br />and for each additional bus operat -I <br />ed by the same ,person, firm, or <br />corporation, $10.00. <br />SECTION 2. <br />Every person, firm, or corpora-:' <br />tion who shall operate or attempt: <br />to operate any bus in the city of <br />Newport Beach upon which a It -' <br />tense is imposed by Section 1 of. <br />this Ordinance without having duly <br />paid the license therefor shall be!. <br />deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, <br />and upon conviction in a court or <br />competent jurisdiction sltall be <br />punished by a fine of not less than <br />$100.00 nor greater than $200.00, <br />or by imprisonment in the city jail l <br />not exceeding 30 days, or by both) <br />such fine and imprisonment in the <br />discretion of the court. <br />The above and foregoing Ordin- <br />ance shall be published once in <br />NEWPORT NEWS, a newspaper of <br />general circulation printed, pub- <br />lished, and circulated in the City <br />of Newport Beach, and the said <br />ordinance shall take effect and be <br />in force from and after its passage. <br />The above and foregoing ordin- <br />ance was passed at a regular meet- <br />ing of the Board of Trustees of <br />the City of Nev:port Beach held <br />the 2nd day of August, 1926, by <br />the vote of the following named <br />members thereof: <br />AYES: — Trustees, Wilkinson, <br />Modjeski, Young, Williamson, <br />Richter. <br />NOES: — Trustees, None. <br />ABSENT: — Trustees, None. <br />The above and foregoing Ordin- <br />ance is hereby approved by me this <br />2nd day of August, 1926. <br />CONRAD RICHTER, <br />President, Board of Trustees. <br />as follows:— <br />SECTION 1. <br />Section 4 of Ordinance No. 268 <br />hereby amended so as to read <br />follows: <br />I <br />is <br />as <br />SECTION 4. " <br />At the time of taking out a' <br />building permit by any person for <br />the erection of any building in thel <br />city of Newport Beach if the said' <br />building when erected shall be <br />� <br />located within 200 feet of a main <br />sewer line, an application to travel <br />said building connected with the <br />,public sewer shall be flied w_th the <br />Superintendent of the water sys- <br />tem of the city of Newport Beach. <br />and no building permit under such <br />conditions shall be issued until <br />said application is signed and <br />filed. <br />The application shall set forth <br />the name of the applicant and al <br />description of the property upon' <br />which the sewer connection is to <br />be made, and the approximate dis- <br />tance of the building when erected <br />from the nearest point on a main <br />sewer line of the public sewer. <br />The applicant shall also deposit, <br />the sum W $5.00 for making the) <br />connection still inspecting the same: <br />when made, together with an ad -1 <br />ditional $1.00 for each foot of sewer <br />Pipe to be laid from the main <br />sewer line to a point on the prop- <br />erty to be connected, the point to' <br />be designated by the owae", pro- <br />vided, however, that the minimum <br />fce for making arty connection <br />shall be $15.00. <br />No building hereafter erected in' <br />the city of Newport Beach shalli <br />be occupied for any purpose nutil i <br />the came is connected with the <br />public sewer. if such building N <br />within 200 feet of a main sewer <br />pipeline, sad all fees and rns[s for <br />making eaid connection hae been <br />Pat(]. <br />All coune2tions to the public <br />sewer shalt be made by the super- <br />intendent of the water system, or <br />by some person especially author- <br />ized by him to do so. <br />SECTION 2. <br />The above and foregoing Ordin- <br />ance No. 302 shall be published <br />once in NEWPORT NLIVS a news- <br />paper of general circulation ,print- <br />ed, Published, and cl cnlated in the <br />city of Newport Beach, and sltall <br />take effect and be in force from <br />and after its passage. <br />I hereby certify the foregoing <br />Ordinance No. 302 was passed by <br />the board of trustees of the city <br />of Newport Beach at a regular <br />meeting thereof held the 5th day of <br />July. 1926, by the following vote: <br />AYES — Trustees.
