ORDINANCE NO. 339 <br />NOT ADOPTED <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH BY ITS CITY <br />COUNCIL AS THE LEGISLATIVE BODY THEREOF, CREATING A <br />DEPARTMENT TO BE KNOWN AS THE DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICITY: <br />CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY ELECTRICIAN AND PRESCRIBING <br />HIS POWERS AND DUTIES; AND PROVIDING FOR-THE GREATER <br />SAFETY TO LIFE AND PROPERTY BY GOVERNING AND REGULATING <br />THE INSTALLATION OF ALL ELECTRICAL CONDUCTORS, APPARATUS <br />AND MATERIAL OF ANY NATURE WHATSOEVER (EXCEPTING TELEPHONES) <br />WHETHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF ANY BUILDING OR UPON ANY <br />STREET, ALLEY OR PUBLIC HIGHWAY WITHIN THE CITY OF NEWPORT <br />BEACH. <br />The ordinance was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. <br />339 passed to the second reading and referred to the City Attorney. <br />Ordinance No. 339 was introduced on March 5, 1928; but <br />was denied passage on April 30, 1928. <br />
