ORDINANCE NO. 407
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SECTION .1 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 381 OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH.
The City of Newport Beach, by
.and through its City Council do
ordain as follows, to -wit:
SECTION 1. Section 1, of Or-
I'liinance No. 381 of the City of
''Newport Beach, being an ordin-
ance of the City of Newport Beach
amending Section 3 of Ordinance
No. 367 of the City of Newport
Beach is hereby amended to read
as follows:
':It shall not be unlawful to en-
Igage in any business, trade, :call -
ing, industry or commerce abbove
mentioned in Section 2, nor shall
it be unlawful to use buildings for
the purpose of engaging in the
prohibited trades, callings, indus
tries and commerce heretofore
mentioned in Section 2, within
those certain districts lying with-
in the district above described
and more particularly described
M follows, to-wit:
All that certain real property
situate in the City of Newport
Beach, County of Orange, State
of California, and more particu-
larly described as follows, to -wit:
PARCEL I
Beginning at a point, said
point being the point of inter-
section of the center lines of
"C" Street and Surf Avenue,
as laid out and shown upon a
map of the East Side Ad-
dition, recorded in Book 4,
'page 20 of Miscellaneous
Maps, Records of Orange
County, California; thence
westerly along the said cen-
ter line of Surf Avenue and
along the center line of Surf
pgenue,.as laid eut and shown
upon a map of the Balboa
Tract, recorded in Book 4,
page 11 of Miscellaneous
Maps, Records of said County
and State, and along the cen-
ter line of Surf Avenue as
laid out and shown upon a
map of the Newport Bay
Tract, recorded in Book 4,
page 16 of Miscellaneous
Maps, Records of said Coun-
ty and State, to its intersec-
tion with the southerly pro-
longation of the center line of
Alvarado Street; thence
northerly along said souther-
ly prolongation and along the
center line of Alvarado 4tregt,
and along its northerly pro-
longation of its intersection
with the United States Bulk-
head Line, between Sta. 113
and Sta. 114, as shown upon
a Map of Newport Bay show-
ing Harbor lines, approved by
the Secretary of war on Jan-
, nary 18, 1917, and on file in
the office of,the District En-
gineer, Los Angeles, Cali-
fornia; thence Easterly and
southerly along said United
States Bulkhead Line to a
point between Station 112 and
Station 111, said point being
the point of intersection with
the Northerly prolongation of
the center line of "B" Street,
as laid out and shown on said
map of Balboa Tract; thence
Southerly along said Norther-
ly prolongation and along the
center line of "B" Street to
an intersection with the cen-
ter line of Central Avenue, as
laid out and shown on said
map of East Side Addition;
thence Easterly along the
center line of Central Avenue
to an intersection with the
said center line of "C" Street;
thence southerly alit the
said `center line of "C" Street
to the point of beginning.
PARCEL II
All of Block Three (3) of
East Newport as shown upon
a map recorded in Miscell-
aneous Maps, Book 3, page
37, records of Orange Coun-
ty, California.
PARCEL III
All that certain tract of
land lying between the center
line and the southerly pro-
longation of the center line of
the first street westerly of
Fifteenth Street and the cen-
ter line of the southerly pro-
longation. of the center line of
the first street easterly of
Fifteenth Street, and between
the center line of Certral
Avenue and the mean high
tide line of the Pacific Ocean.
SECTION 2. This ordinance
shall be published "once in NEW-
PORT NEWS, a newspaper ,6f
general circulation, printed, 'pub-
lished and circulated in the City
of Newport Beach, and shall take
effect and be in full force thirty
days after its passage:
The City Council of the City
of Newport Beach consists of five
members, and the above and fore-
going Ordinance was passed by
the City Council of the City of
I:ewport Beach at a regular meet-
ing thereof held on the 17th day
of Yd46bqAr,1932, by the following
vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen: Gordon,
Claire, Ellsworth, Garfield, Hil-
mer.
NOES, Councilmen: None.
ABSENT, Councilmen: Nope.
