HomeMy WebLinkAbout550 - Home Occupancy0 • ORDINANCE NO. 550 The City of Newport Beach, by and through its City Council, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Section 2 of Ordi- nance No. 525 of the City of New- port Beach is hereby amended by striking from Section 2 thereof the following paragraph: "Home Occupation ": Any voca- tion, trade or profession carried on within a dwelling by the in- habitants thereof, where only elec- tric power, not in excess of an aggregate of one (1) horsepower, is used, no merchandise or other articles are displayed for adver- tising purposes and no assistants are employed except as permitted in certain districts." SECTION 2: Section 4 of Or- dinance No. 525 is hereby amend- ed by striking therefrom sub- division 6 thereof reading as fol- lows: "6. Home occupations, offices and studios, provided no advertis- ing sign, merchandise, products or other materials or equipment is displayed for advertising pur- poses;" SECTION 3: This ordinance, after its passage and authentica- tion and approval by the Mayor, shall be published once in the Newport- Balboa Press, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Newport Beach, and hereby designated for that pur- pose, and shall take effect and be in force thirty (30) days after its passage. The above and foregoing Ordi- nance was Introduced at a regu- lar meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, held on the 3rd day of June, 1946, and was finally passed and adopted on the 1st day of July, 1946, by the City Council at a regular meeting thereof, by the following vote, to. wit; AYES, COUNCILMEN: Allen Siler, Isbell, Robertson, Reed.
