ORDINANCE NO. 588
ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY REFER-
ENCE A COMPREHENSIVE ORDI-
NANCE CODE OF ALL ORDI-
NANCES ENACTED AND PUB-
LISHED BY THE CITY OF NEW-
PORT BEACH IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE GENERAL LAWS OF
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND
WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN RE-
PEALED.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provis-
ions of Section 852c of the Municipal
Corporations Act, Statutes of 1883,
Page 93, as amended, any and all
ordinances of the City which have been
enacted and published in the manner
required at the time of their adoption,
and which have not been repealed, may
be compiled, consolidated, revised, in-
dexed, and arranged as a compre-
hensive Code, and such Code may be
adopted by reference by the passage of
an Ordinance for such purpose; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the
regulatory, penal and certain admin-
iistrative ordinances of the City of
Newport Beach be compiled, consolidat-
ed, revised, indexed and arranged as a
comprehensive ordinance Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the
provisions of said Section 852c of the
Municipal Corporations Act, Statutes of
1883, Page 93, as amended, the City
Couuncil of the City of Newport Beach
does ordain as follows:
SECTION I: That certain documents,
entitled 'Newport Beach Municipal
Code" dated October 22, 1948, three
(3) copies of which have been filed in
the office of the City Clerk, on the
22nd day of October, 1948, for use and
examination by the public,' is hereby
adopted as a comprehensive ordinance
code of all regulatory, penal and. certain
administrative ordinances of the City,
pursuant to the provisions of said Sec-
tion 852c of the Municipal Corporations
Act, Statutes of 1883, Page 93, as
amended.
SECTION II: The following numbered

ordinances, which are obsolete, or have
been codified, or are in conflict with
the provisions of said Code, are hereby
repealed:

SECTION III: The above and fore-
going Ordinance No. 583 shall be pub-
lished once in the NEWPORT - BALBOA
NEWS- TIMES, a newspaper of general
circulation printed, published and cir-
cuiated in the City of Newport Beach,
and shall take effect and be in force
thirty days after its adoption.
I hereby certify that the foregoing
Ordinance was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach, held on the
25th day of October, 1948, and was
finally passed and adopted on the 11th
day of July, 1949, by the City Council
at a regular meeting, thereof, by the
following roll call vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen: Greeley, Robert-
son, Isbell, Blue, Drake.
NOES, Councilmen: None.
ABSENT, Councilmen: None.
