ORDINANCE NO. 590
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH CHANG-
ING THE NAME OF CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF CENTRAL
AVENUE TO NEWPORT
BOULEVARD AND CHANG-
ING THE NAME OF COAST
BOULEVARD AND CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF CENTRAL
AVENUE TO BALBOA
BOULEVARD.
The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach does ordain as fol-
lows:
SECTION 1. That certain por-
tion of Central Avenue lying be-
tween the northerly end of said
Central Avenue and the westerly
line of 21st Street in the City of
Newport Beach is hereby changed
from Central Avenue and the name
by which said portion shall be
known and called is hereby declar-
ed to be Newport Boulevard.
SECTION 2. That certain street
in the City of Newport Beach
known as Coast Boulevard lying
between the northwesterly end of
said Coast Boulevard and the wes-
terly line of 21st Street is hereby
changed to and the name by which
said street in this Section mention-
ed shall be known and called is
hereby declared to be Balboa
Boulevard.
SECTION 3. That certain por-
tion of Central Avenue lying be-
tween the westerly line of 21st
Street and the easterly end of said
Central Avenue in the City of
Newport Beach is hereby changed
from Central Avenue and the name
by which said portion in this sec-
tion mentioned shall be known and
called is hereby declared to be Bal-
boa Boulevard.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk
shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and cause the same to
be published in the Newport -Bal-
boa Press, a weekly newspaper
printed and circulated in the City
of Newport Beach.
The foregoing ordinance was in-
troduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach held on the 14th
day of March, 1949, and was fin-
ally passed and adopted on the
28th day of March, 1949, at a re-
gular meeting of the City Council
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN Greeley,
Robertson, Isbell, Blue, Drake.
NOES, COUNCILMEN None.
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN, None.
