ORDINANCE NO. 598
ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC-
TIONS 7211, 7212 AND 7216
OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE,
AND PROVIDING FOR A RE-
DUCTION OF THE ANNUAL
AND MONTHLY WATER
RATES AND REDUCING
TURN -ON CHARGES.
SECTION 1: Section 7211 of
the Municipal Code of the City of
Newport Beach is hereby amend-
ed to read as follows, to -wit:
For % -inch meters,
first 700 feet or less ....$1.80
For % -inch meters,
first 700 feet or less .... 1.80
For 1 -inch meters,
first 1000 feet or less.... 2.16
For 1% -inch meters,
first 1300 feet or less -. 2.52
For 2 -inch meters,
first 1600 feet or less .. 2.88
For 3 -inch meters,
first 1800 feet or less .. 3.12
For each additional
100 cubic feet ................ 0.12
SECTION 2: That portion of
Section 7212 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Newport
Beach reading as follows:
"When water is furnished
not through a meter a charge
of $3.50 per month for each
connection shall be made.
When the rate is paid for an-
nually in advance the charge
shall be $37.00 per annum."
is hereby amended to read as fol-
lows, to -wit:
"When water is furnished
not through a meter a charge
of $3.00 per month for each
connection shall be made.
When water is paid for an-
nually in advance the charge
shall be $31.00 per annum."
SECTION 3: Section 7216 of
the Municipal Code of the City of
Newport Beach is hereby amend-
ed to read as follows, to -wit:
"When water service to any
premise has been turned off
because of non - payment of
bill or violation of any of the
provision of this article, or
ordered by the owner or ten-
ant, a charge of $2.50 shall be
made and collected for each
service on the premises before
water service will be re-
stored."
SECTION 4: This ordinance
shall be published at least once in
the Newport-Balboa Press, a.
newspaper of general circulation
printed and published in the City
of Newport Beach and shall be in
force and effect thirty days (30)
after the final passage thereof.
SECTION 5: The above and
foregoing ordinance was intro-
duced at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of New-
port Beach held on the 13th day
of June, 1949 and was finally
passed and adopted on the 27th
day of June, 1949 by the follow-
ing vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen Greeley,
Robertson, Isbell, Drake.
NOES, Councilmen: None.
ABSENT, Councilmen Blue.
