ORDINANCE NO. 605
ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC-
TIONS ,RN8b AND 91096 OF
THIN MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH DELETING THE PRO-
V I S 10 N FORBIDDING THE
STORAGE IN SERVICE STA-
TIONS OF GASOLINE. AND
OTHER PETROLEUM P R O-
D U C T S BEYOND CERTAIN
LIMITS.
The City Council of the City
of Newport Beach does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1: Section 9108b of
the Municipal Code of the City
of N e w p o r t Beach is hereby
amended by deleting therefrom
the language following "Auto-
mobile or marine service station,"
to wit:
"provided no gasoline or Class
"A" petroleum products in ex-
cess of a total of five thousand
gallons a n d f i v e thousand
gallons of o t h e r petroleum
products per twenty -five hun-
dred square feet of lot area
are stored, and provided fur-
ther that no more than a total
of t e n thousand gallons of
each of the above classes of
petroleum products per block
shall be stored upon property
fronting upon or 10 c a t e d
within one hundred feet of the
waters of Newport Bay."
SECTION 2: Section 9109b of
the Municipal Code of the City of
Newport Beach is hereby amended
by deleting therefrom the lang-
uage following 'Storage of gaso-
1 i n e or C l a s s "A" petroleum
products," to wit:
"in excess of a total of five
thousand gallons a n d f i v e
thousand g a 11 o n s of other
petroleum products per
twenty -five hundred square
feet of lot area are stored,
and provided further that not
more than a total of ten thou-
sand gallons of each of the
above classes of petroleum
products per block shall be
stored upon property fronting
upon or located within one
hundred feet of the waters
of Newport Bay."
SECTION 3: This ordinance
shall be published at least once
in the Newport - Balboa Press, a
newspaper of general circulation
printed and published in the City
of Newport Beach and shall be
in force and effect thirty days
after the final passage thereof.
The above and foregoing ordi-
nance was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach held on
the 11th day of July, 1949, and
was finally passed and adopted
on the 25th day of July, 1949, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN Greely,
Robertson, Blue Drake.
NOES, COUNCILMEN None.
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN Isbell
DICK DRAKE
