ORDINANCE NO. 624
:
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SECTION 3112 OF THE MUNI-
CIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE
FOR CAMPFIRE AREA NO.
EIGHT
The City Council of the City
of Newport Beach does hereby or-
dain as follows:
SECTION 1: There is hereby
added to Section 3112 of the Mu-
nicipal Coce of the City of New-
.
port Beach the following camp-
fire area site and designated as
"Campfire Area No. 8 ", to wit:
"Campfire Area" No. 8
Beginning at the intersection
of the southwesterly prolonga-
tion of the northwesterly line of
Iris Avenue with the southwest-
erly line of Shore Avenue, as
Said streets are laid out and
shown upon a map of the Re-
subdivision of Corona del Mar,
recorded in Miscellaneous Maps,
Boole 4, Page 67, Records of
Orange County. California;
thence southwesterly along said
southwesterly prolongation of
the northwesterly line of Iris
Avenue to an intersection with
the East Jetty of - _ ^7ewport Har-
bor: thence northerly along said
East Jetty to an intersection
with the said southwesterly line
of Shore Avenue; thence south-
easterly along said southwest-
erly line of Shore Avenue to the
point of beginning."
SECTION 2: This ordinance is
hereby declared to be an emer-
gency measure necessary for the
immediate protection of the public
Peace, health and safety, and
shall take effect immediately upon
its filial passage. The following
is a statement of the facts show-
ing its urgency:
The uncontrolled building of
camp fires on the beach constitutes
a threat to the public health;
§kfety and property of the citi-
zens of Newport Beach.
SECTION3.: This ordinance'
shall be published at least once in
the Newport Balboa Press, a news-
paper of general circulation print-
ed and published in the City of
Newport Beach.
The foregoing ordinance was in-
.
troduced at a regular meeting of
the City council of the City of
Newport Beach held on the 12th
day of June, 1950, and was finally
passed and adopted on the 26th
day of June, 1950, by the follow-
ing vote, to -wit:

Finch, Drake, Greeley, Blue, Isbell
NOES, COUNCILMEN, None.

None.
