ORDINANCE APPROVING TIIE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS, TO THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH,
BNOWN AS THE WESTSIDE
STRIP PARCEL.
Tile City of Newport Bcach, by
and through, its City Council does
ordain as follows:
Section 1: That the annexation
of the City of Newport Beach,
State of California, of that cer-
tain uninhabited territory contigu-
ous to said City known as the
Westside Strip Parcel, is hereby
approved, and that the same is
hereby ordained to be annexed to
and made a part of the City of
Newport Beach, State of Califor-
nia. That sail territory is par-
ticularly described as follows:
All that certain land situat-
ed in the County of Orange,
State of California, contingu-
ous to the City of Newport
Beach, described as follows,
to -wit:
Beginning at the point of
intersection of the northeast-
erly prolongation of t h e
southeasterly line of Summit
Street. as said street is laid
out and shown upon a map of
Seashore Colony Tract, • re-
corded in Miscellaneous Maps
Book 7, Page 25, Records of
Orange County, California
with the northeasterly line of
the State Highway ORA -60-
A, 100 feet in width, said
point also being in the city
boundary in the City of New-
port Beach: thence north-
westerly along said northeast-
erly right of way line to an
intersection with the south-
erly prolongation of the east-
erly lone of the 300 foot right
of way for the Santa Ana
•River Channel, as described in
an easement to the Newbert
Protection District, recorded
in Book 197, . .page 300, of
Deeds, Records of said Or-
ange County; thence north-
erly along said southerly pro-
longation and the easterly
line of said Santa Ana River
Channel to an intersection
with the north line of Lot "B•',
Banning Tract, as shown on a
map attached to the report of
the Referees filed April 14th,
1890, in the action of Han-
cock Banning an d others,
' versus Mary H. Banning, Case
No. 6385 upon the Register
of Actions of the Superior
Court of the State of Califor-
nia, in and.for tine County of
Los Angeles: thence along
said northerly line of Lot "B••
to an intersection with the
northwesterly line of the First
Addition to Newport - Mesa
Tract, as said Tract is laid
out and shown upon a map
recorded in Miscellaneous
Maps, Book 8, Page 61, of
said Orange County; thence

more or less, along said north-
westerly boundary of said
Tract to an angle - point;

one foot southerly of the

in the City boundary, of the
City of Newport Beach:

of beginning.
SECTION 2: That the bound -
•aries of the City of Newport
Beach, California be, and the same
are hereby altered to include the
above described territory, the an-
nexation of which is approved and
ordained herein, and incorporated
in the City of Newport Beach,
California..
SECTION 3: That the proceed-
ings and annexation herein or-
dained are had and taken under
and pursuant to the provisions of
an Act of Legislature of the State
of California, designated and re-
fenced to as the "Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory A c t of
1939.' •
SECTION 4: The City Clerk
shall cause this ordinance to be
published within fifteen days af-
ter its passage at least once in
the Newport- Balboa P r e s s, a
newspaper of general circulation
published and circulated in t h e
City of Newport Beach.
The above and foregoing ordin-
ance was introduced 'at a regular
meeting of the City of Newport
Beach held on the 11th clay of
September, 1950, and was finally
passed and adopted on the 25th
day of September, 1950, by the
following vote, to- wit: , --
