AN ORDINANCE ADDING SEC-
TION 3403 TO' THE MUNIICI-
PAL CODE OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH REQUIR-
ING THE POSTING OF
PRICES ON AUTOMOBILE,
PARKIING LOTS & PROVID-
ING PENALTIES FOR
CHARGING MORE THAN
THE POSTED PRICE
The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach does hereby ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1: There is hereby
added to the Municipal Code of the
City of Newport Beach, Section
3403, to read as follows:
"Section 3403. Parking lots;
Posting prices; Excess charges.
The owner or operator of auto-
mobile parking lots in the City of
Newport shall, at all times while
said parking lot is in operation,
post or cause to be posted thereon,
a sign or signs denoting the price
to be charged for parking, per
hour or per day, as the case may
be. Said sign or signs shall be of
a size, number and type sufficient
to advise the public of said
charges. It shall be a misde-
meanor, punishable under Section
1200 of this Code, for said owner
or operator to charge or attempt
to charge, more than said posted
price."
SECTION 2: This Ordinance
shall be published once in the
Newport Harbor Ensign, a news-
paper of general circulation,
printed and published in the City
of Newport Beach, and the same
shall be in full force and effect 30
days after this passage.
The foregoing Ordinance teas in-
troduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach, held on the 8th
day of September, 1952, and was
finally passed and adopted on the
22nd day of September, 1952, by
the following vote, to -wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Smith,
Finch, Isbell, Bennett, Miller
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: None
NORMAN MILLER
