• <br />ORDINANCE NO. 816 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY <br />OF NEWPORT BEACH AMEND. <br />ING SECTION 10157 OF CHAP- <br />TER 1 OF ARTICLE X OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, BY ADDING <br />SUB - SECTIONS H AND I, PRO- <br />VIDING FOR TWO ADDITIONAL <br />PROTECTED SWIMMING <br />AREAS. <br />The City Council of the City <br />of Newport Beach does ordain as <br />follows: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 10157 <br />of Chapter 1 of Article X of the <br />Municipal Code, be and the same <br />is hereby amended, by adding <br />the following sub - sections to <br />read as follows: <br />"H. Swimming Area No. 8. <br />Beginning at the point of in. <br />tersection of the northeasterly <br />prolongation of the northwest- <br />erly line of Lot 17, Block 218, <br />as shown upon a map of Sec - <br />"B" Newport Beach, recorded <br />in Miscellaneous Maps, Book <br />4, Page 27, Records of Orange <br />County, California and the U.S. <br />Pierhead line; thence south- <br />easterly along said U.S. Pier - <br />head line to an intersection <br />with the northeasterly pro- <br />longation of the northwesterly <br />line of 17th Street as shown <br />upon a map of said Section <br />"B "; thence southwesterly <br />along said northeasterly pro- <br />longation of 17th Street to an <br />intersection with a line lying <br />parallel to and distant 310 <br />feet from and northeasterly <br />of the northerly line of Balboa <br />Boulevard; thence northwest- <br />erly along said parallel line to <br />an intersection with the afore- <br />said northeasterly prolonga- <br />tion of the northwesterly line <br />of said Lot 17, Block 218; <br />thence northeasterly along <br />said northeasterly prolonga- <br />tion of the northwesterly line <br />of Lot 17 to the point of begin- <br />ning. <br />"I. Swimming Area No. 9. <br />Beginning at the point of in- <br />tersection of the southeasterly <br />line of Goldenrod Avenue as <br />shown upon a map of Corona <br />del Mar, recorded in Miscel. <br />laneous Maps, Book 3, Pages <br />41 and 42, Records of Orange <br />County, California and the <br />mean high tide line of the <br />Pacific Ocean; thence easterly <br />and southerly along said high <br />tide line to an intersection <br />with the southwesterly line of <br />Shore Avenue as shown upon <br />said Map of Corona del Mar; <br />thence northwesterly a l o n g <br />said southwesterly line of <br />Shore Avenue to an intersec- <br />tion with the southwesterly <br />prolongation of the northwest- <br />erly line of Goldenrod Avenue <br />as shown upon said map of <br />Corona del Mar; thence north- <br />easterly along said southwest- <br />erly prolongation and along <br />the northeasterly line of said <br />Goldenrod Avenue to an inter- <br />section with the high tide line <br />of the Pacific Ocean; thence <br />easterly along said high tide <br />line to the point of beginning. <br />SECTION 2: This ordinance <br />shall be published at least once <br />in the Newport Harbor Ensign, a <br />newspaper of general circulation, <br />printed and published and circu- <br />lated in the City of Newport <br />Beach and the same shall be in <br />full force and effect 30 days after <br />this passage. <br />The above and foregoing ordi. <br />nance was introduced at a regu- <br />lar meeting of the City Council <br />of the City of Newport Beach <br />held on the 12th day of March, <br />1957 and was finally passed and <br />adopted on the 25th day of <br />March, 1957, by the following <br />vote, to wit: <br />AYES, COUNCILMEN: <br />Hart, Wilder, MacKay, <br />Higbie, Stoddard, <br />Ridderhof, Hill <br />NOES, COUNCILMEN: <br />None <br />ABSENT COUNCILMEN: <br />None <br />DORA O.
