AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH RE-
PEAL'IN_ G SECTION 2200 OF
THE NEWPORT REACH
MUNICIPAL. CODE AND EN-
ACTING A NEW SECTION
2200 RELATING TO CLASSI-
FICATION AND COMPENSA-
TION' PLANS AND UNI-
FORM PERSONNEL POLIC-
IES FOR CITY EMPLOYEES
The City. Cbunell of the City
of Newport Reach does ordain as
follows:'
SECTION 1: Section 2200 of
the Newport Beach Municipal
Code is repealed.
SECTION 2: A new Section
numbered 2200 N enacted to
read:
"Section 2200. Classification
and Compensation Plans and
Vniform Personnel Policies. Up-
on the recommendation of the
City Manager, the City Council
shall establlsh'by resolution the
classification of positions in city
employment and a salary range
or rate for each class or posi-
tion.
Upon the recommendation of
the City Manager, the City 0oun-
611 shall also establish by resolu-
tion uniform personnel policies
for city employees relating to
classification, a o m p e n s a tion
leaves of absence and other con-
e ditions *of employment. Different
N policies may be provided for dif-
ferent classes or for different
.Ulpositions in a class as the needs
is of the city require.
`'Tile City Manager shall review
the provisions of the resolutions
at least annually and (recommend
changes deemed necessary to re-
move inequities or to meet the
operational heeds of tke city."
SECTION 4; This Ordinance
shall be published once in the
Newport Harbor News Press, a
newspaper of general circulation,
printed add published in the City
of Newport Beach, and the sapre
shall take effect and be in force
on the lot day of July, 1958.
This Ordinance was introduced
at a regular meeting of the City
Councl of the City of Newport,
Beach held on the 12th day of
May, 1958, and was adopted ow
