HomeMy WebLinkAbout936 - Stopping Standing or Parking Restrictions40 ORDINANCE NO. 936 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTION 3289 AND REPEALING SECTION 3290 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE RE- LATING TO STOPPING, STANDING OR PARKING RE- STRICTIONS. The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 3289 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: "SECTION 3289. PARKING TIME RESTRICTIONS. (a) When authorized signs are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle between the hours of 8:00 a.m, and 6:00 p.m. of any day for a period of time longer than one (1) hour upon such streets or portions thereof as the City Council shall designate by resolution. (b) When authorized signs are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m, of any day for a period of time longer than two (2) hours upon such streets or portions thereof as the City Council shall designate by resolu- tion. (c) When special parking or traffic conditions require different hours or days of parking restrictions, the City Council may by resolution vary the hours and days dur- ing which the foregoing re- strictions shall be in effect, and, when authorized signs are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle contrary to the directions or provisions of such signs." SECTION 2. Section 3290 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is repealed. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published once in the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effective 30 days after the date of its adoption. This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 22d day of August, 1960, and was adopted on the 12th day of September, 19609 by the following vote, to wit: AYES, COUNCILMEN: Atkin- son, Cook, Stoddard, Hart, Lorenz, Somers. NOES, COUNCILMEN: None. ABSENT COUNCILMEN: Kingsley. JAMES B.
