AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMEENDING SECTION 7214 OF
THE NEWPORT BEACH MU.
NICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
THE SERVICE OF WATER
AND RATES THEREFOR
The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach does ordain as
follows:
SECTION I. Section 7214 of the
Newport Beach Municipal Code
is amended to read:
"SECTION 7214. Rates, Other
Uses.
(a) Building Construction Pur-
poses. Service may be made to
a lot or parcel of land on
which a building is being con-
structed for construction pur-
poses only from the time the
building permit is issued until
the building is completed or un-
til the time a water meter is
installed to serve such lot or
parcel, whichever first occurs, for
a flat rate of Two Dollars ($2.00)
per month for each 2,000 sq. ft. of
floor area or fraction thereof of
such building.
.(b) Other Uses. Mater used
for all other purposes not here•
inbefore enumerated shall be
furnished and charged for either
at meter rates or at a special
rate to be fixed by the City
Council under separate agree•
ment with the consumer."
SECTION 2. This ordinance
shall be published once in the
official newspaper of the City,
and the same shall be effective
30 days after the date of its
adoption.
This ordinance was intro•
duced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach held on the 9th
day of January, 1961, and was
adopted on the 23rd day of
January, 1961, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Kings-
ley, Atkinson, Cook, Stod•
dard, Hart, Lorenz, Somers.
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
