ORDINANCE. NO. 1145
AN ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT ,BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 110202
OF THE NEWPORT BEACH
MUNICIPAL CODE RELAT-
ING TO BOAT LAUNCHING
AND HAULING
The City Council of the City
of Newport Beach does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 10202
of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code is amended to read:
"SECTION 10202. Boat
Launching and Hauling. No
person shall launch or remove
any vessel from the waters of
Newport Harbor over any pub-
lic sea wall, sidewalk, street
end, or public property, except
at locations where a regular
business of launching and
hauling vessels is conducted
which has the necessary
equipment to do such work, or
in areas designated and post-
ed for such purpose by the
city.
Any launching site so de-
signated and posted may be
regulated as to hours of
launching, size of boats to be
launched, types of boats to be
launched, and method and ap-
paratus to be used in said
launching. Any such regula-

tions shall be based upon and
be for the purpose of protect-
ing the safety of persons using
the beach and /or, water, main.
taining the peace and quiet of
the immediate neighborhood
of the launching site, and in-
suring noninterference with the
safe and orderly use of city
streets by the motoring pub-
lic."
SECTION 2. This ordinance
shall be published once in the
official newspaper of the City
and the same shall be effective
30 days after the date of its
adoption.
This ordinance was introduced
at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Newport
Beach held on the 22nd day of
November, 1965, and was adopt-
ed on the 13th day of December,
19650 by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Parsons,
Marshall, Elder, Gruber, Cook,
Forgit.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSTAINING, COUNCILMEN:
Shelton.
