ORDINANCE NO. 1 2 9 8
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ADDING
SECTION 5.16.120, ENTITLED "WAIVER BY CITY
MANAGER ", TO CHAPTER 5.16 RELATING TO SPECIAL
SALES., TITLE 5 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL
CODE, TO ALLOW AN EXEMPTION FOR LOCAL MERCHANTS
WHO ARE DISASTER VICTIMS
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 5.16.120 is added to the Newport
Beach Municipal Code to read,
"5.16.120 Waiver by City Manager. The City Manager
may waive the requirements of this Chapter if he deter-
mines that all of the goods, wares or merchandise proposed
to be sold were damaged in the City of Newport Beach by
a flood, fire, earthquake or other disaster while in the
possession of the person proposing to hold the sale."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once
in the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be
effective 30 days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 28th
day of April , 1969, and was adopted on the 12th day of
May , 1969, by the following vote, to wit:
