HomeMy WebLinkAbout1331 - Prima Facie Speed Limits0 • ORDINANCE NO. 2 3 3 1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTIONS 12.24.030, 12.24.040, 12.24.080 AND 12.24.090 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 12.24.030 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: 1#12.24.030 Prima Facie Speed Limit -- Thirty Miles Per Hour. The prima facie speed limit on the following named streets or parts thereof shall be thirty miles per hour. Santa Isabel Avenue from Irvine Avenue to Tustin Avenue. Cliff Drive from Riverside Avenue to Dover Drive. Newport Boulevard from West Coast Highway northerly to 15th Street. Newport Boulevard from Finley Avenue to 21st Street." SECTION 2. Section 12.24.040 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: "12.24.040 Prima Facie Speed Limit--Thirty-Five Miles Per Hour. The prima facie speed limit on the following named streets or parts thereof shall be thirty -five miles per hour. Bayside Drive from East Coast Highway southerly and easterly to a point 1,000 feet westerly of the intersection of Bayside Drive . and the extension of Avocado Avenue. Irvine Avenue from 16th Street to Westcliff Drive. Irvine Avenue starting at a`point 826 feet north of Mariners Drive and extending to Santiago Drive." SECTION 3. Section 12.24.080 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: "12.24.080 Prima Facie Speed Limit -- Thirty -Five Miles Per Hour. The prima facie speed limit on the following -1- named streets or parts thereof shall be thirty -five miles per hour. Superior Avenue. Jamboree Road from Bayside Drive to East Coast Highway. Eastbluff Drive from Bixia Street southerly to Jamboree Road. Marguerite Avenue from Fifth Avenue to San Joaquin Hills Road. Westcliff Drive from Dover Drive to Irvine Avenue. Irvine Avenue from Westcliff Drive to a point 826 feet north of Mariners Drive. Irvine Avenue from Santiago Drive to the northerly City limit." SECTION 4. Section 12.24.090 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: "12.24.090 Prima Facie Speed Limit -- Thirty Miles Per Hour. The prima facie speed limit on the following named streets or parts thereof shall be thirty miles per hour. West side of Dover from Westcliff Drive to Irvine Avenue. 16th Street from Irvine Avenue to Dover Drive. Bayside Drive from Carnation Avenue to Marguerite Avenue. Bay side 5. This ordinance shall be published once in the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effective 30 days after the date of its adoption.
