ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 5.04.160 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
ORDINANCE NO. 1 3 4
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 5.04.160 OF TITLE 5 OF THE
NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
BUSINESS LICENSES TO EXTEND THE TERM OF ALL
BUSINESS LICENSES ISSUED DURING THE PERIOD
BETWEEN JULY 19 1969 AND JUNE 302 1970 UNTIL
DECEMBER 31, 1970; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
ISSUANCE OF LICENSES FOR ANY BUSINESSES WHICH
WERE NOT PREVIOUSLY LICENSED DURING THE PERIOD
BETWEEN JULY 1, 1969 AND JULY 10 1970
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 5.04.160 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

"5.04.160 Payment and Term of License. All license
fees required by this Chapter shall be payable in advance
to the Finance Director in lawful money of the United
States,.
Licenses required hereunder shall be for the following
periods and the fees therefor shall be due and payable on the
following dates:
(a) Annual licenses shall be for a period of one year
and the fees therefor shall be due and payable on the first
day of July of each year and shall be delinquent on the first
day of August of each year; provided, however, that all
annual licenses issued during the period between July 1, 1969
and June 30, 1970 shall be extended until December 31, 1970
without further payment of fees. It is further provided that
all licenses issued between the period from July 1, 1970 to
December 31, 1970 shall be subject to the fees set forth in
this Chapter and shall expire on December 31, 1970,
(b) Daily licenses shall be due and payable in advance
and shall be delinquent if not paid in advance."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in

the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effective
30 days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 8th
day of June , 1970, and was adopted on the 22nd
day of June , 1970, by the following vote, to wits
