AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
ADDING SECTION 5.04.105 TO THE NEWPORT BEACH
MUNICIPAL CODE, PROVIDING. EXEMPTION -FOR
RESIDENTIAL RENTAL UNITS
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 5.04.105 is.added to the Newport
Beach Municipal Code to read:
"5.04.105 Exemption for Residential Rental Units.
No business license shall be required for the business of
renting two or less residential rental units at the same
or different locations. A 'rental unit' shall mean and
include all residential units except one which is the
part or full -time residence of the owner, and no part
thereof is offered or available for rent at any time
4 during the license year."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be
effective 30 days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 8th
day of February , 1971, and was adopted on the 22nd
day of February , 1971, by the following vote, to wit:
