AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 20.08.030 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO DANCE
HAILS, ESTABLISHMENTS WITH LIQUOR, ETC.
The City Council of the City of- Newport Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 20.08.030 of the;Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read:
"20.08.030 Dance Halls, Establishments with
Liquor, etc. No dance hall, road house, night club,
commercial club, restaurant, or any establishment where
liquor is served shall be established in any district
closer than 200 feet to the boundary of any dwelling
district, unless a Use Permit shall first have been
secured for the establishment, maintenance and operation
of such use; PROVIDED, further, that any of the above
listed establishments where entertainers are provided,
or any establishment having audio - amplification which when
in operation can be heard outside of the confines of the
structure, shall not be established in any district,
unless a Use Permit shall first have been secured for
the establishment, maintenance and operation of such use."
SECTION 2. This.ordinance shall be published once
in the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be
effective 30 days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the

26th day of April 1971, by the following vote,
to wit:
