AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
•, AMENDING SECTION 12.04.055 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED "HOLIDAYS ",
TO REFLECT THE CURRENT HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 12.04.055 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read:
"12.04.055 Holidays. Within the meaning of this
Chapter, holidays are:
1. Every Sunday
2. January 1st
3. February 12th, known as "Lincoln Day"
4. The third Monday in.February, known as "Washington's

Birthday ".
5.
The last Monday in May, known as "Memorial Day ". •
6.
July 4th
7.
The first Monday in September, known as "Labor Day ".
8.
The second Monday in October, known as "Columbus Day ".
9.
The fourth Monday in October, known as "Veterans Day ".
10,
The fourth Thursday in November, known as "Thanksgiving
Day ".
11.
December 25th
12.
Good Friday
13.
Every day appointed by the President or Governor for
a public fast, thanksgiving, or holiday ".
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once
in the
official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be
effective
30 days after the date of its adoption.

This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Newport.Beach held on the
26th day of April , 1971, and was adopted on the
17th day of May 1971, by the following vote,
to wit:
