HomeMy WebLinkAbout1481 - Definition of Storya 4t 9 d O� Q1� W ut LL� Q r � AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTION 20.02.285 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO THE DEFINITION OF "STORY" The City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. Section 20.02.285 of the. Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: "20.02.285 Story. The term "story" shall mean that portion of a building included between the upper surface of any floor and the upper surface of the floor next above, except that the topmost story shall be that portion of a building included between the upper surface of the topmost floor and the ceiling or roof above. If the finished floor level directly above a basement, cellar or unused underfloor space is more than 6 feet above grade as defined herein for more than 50 percent of the total perimeter or is more than 12 feet above grade as defined herein at any point, such basement, cellar or unused underfloor space shall be considered as a story." SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effective 30 days after the date of its adoption.
