HomeMy WebLinkAbout1880 - Amending the Franchise of Teleprompter Corporation by Adding to the Franchise Area the Former County Triangle• NO. 1880 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING THE FRANCHISE OF TELEPROMPTER CORPORATION BY ADDING TO THE FRANCHISE AREA THE FORMER COUNTY TRIANGLE WHEREAS, on December 27, 1966, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach adopted Ordinance No. 1197 granting to Warner Bros. TV Services, Inc, a non - exclusive franchise to construct, maintain and operate a community antenna television system within the City of Newport Beach; and 40 WHEREAS, said franchise was asssigned to Teleprompter Corporation; and WHEREAS, on April 13, 1981, by Resolution No. 10019 the City Council of the City of Newport Beach approved the merger of Teleprompter Corporation with Westinghouse Broadcasting Company, Inc., a subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Corportion; and WHEREAS, on May 11, 1981, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 10038 setting a public hearing to consider incorporation of the recently annexed County triangle area into the Teleprompter franchise area, the hearing to be held on May 26, 1981, pursuant to Section 5.44.173 of the Newport Beach . • Municipal Code; and 6 WHEREAS, on May 26, 1981, a public hearing was held to consider the incorporation of the recently annexed County Triangle area into the Teleprompter franchise area, and the City Council found and determined that it was appropriate to annex said area into the Teleprompter franchise area; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. The Franchise area of Teleprompter Corporation is hereby amended by adding to the franchise area the recently annexed County Triangle area, a copy of the legal description of the County Triangle area is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference as if fully set forth. 40 SECTION 2. All other terms, conditions, covenants and • restrictions of the franchise heretofore granted to Teleprompter Corporation, not inconsistent herewith, shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. Maps in the office of the County Recorder. in the County of Orange, State of California, more particularly described as follows; Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary line of the City of Newport Beach as created by "Annexation No. 54" and the "Superior Avenue Annexation", said point being the most westerly southwest corner of said "Superior Avenue Annexation "; thence along said existing boundary line per said "Superior Avenue Annexation" per the "First Addition to Superior Avenue Annexation" per the "Annexation No. 58" per the "Superior Avenue - Hospital Road Annexation N6.79 ".per the "Superior Avenue - Hospital Road Annexation No. 74" and per "Annexation No. 54" in a general Easterly, Southwesterly, and Northwesterly direction to the point of beginning. The above described parcel of land contains 63.6 acres, more or less.
