• AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 12.40.040 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH
MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO LIMITATIONS ON
PARKING DURATION.
The City Council the City of Newport Beach DOES ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 12.40.040 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
"12.40.040 Parking Duration Period No person who owns
or has possession, custody or control of any vehicle, shall park
such vehicle upon any public street or upon publicly owned,
maintained or operated property for a period of seventy -two (72)
or more, consecutive hours. For purposes of this Section, the
vehicle shall be considered to have remained parked unless,
during any seventy -two (72) hour period, said vehicle has been
moved, at least 100 feet from the position it previously
occupied, or the odometer on said vehicle exhibits a change of at
least one -tenth of one mile.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be
effective thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption.
This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 11th
day of Jan. , 1982, and was adopted on the 25th day of Januarv,
1982, by the following vote, to wit:

Maurer, Hart, Strauss
NOES, COUNCIL MEMBERS None
