A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE, CLOSE UP AND ABANDON FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES CERTAIN PORTIONS OF ABALONE AVENUE AND CERTAIN ALLEYS IN BLOCKS 8 AND 9 OF SECTION 5, BALBOA ISLAND, iYITHIN SAID CITY. The Board of Trustees of the City of ye-port Beach does resolve as follows: SECTION I. It is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach to order those portions of the public street and alleys hereinafter described within said City, to be closed up, vacated and abardoned for public street purposes; the said portions of said street and alleys to be closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes are described as follo,^s, to-it: All that oortion of Abalone Avenue from a line 150 feet northerly of and parallel with the northerly line of Central Avenue to the north ^rly termination of said Abalone Avenue; and all that portion of the first alley lying westerly of and par- allel with Abalone Avenue from the northerly line of Central Avenue to the southwesterly line of the first alley northerly of Central Avenue; and all that portion of the first alley lying easterly of and parallel with Abalone Avenue from the northerly line of Central Avenue to the south ±7esterly line of the first •� alley northeasterly of Central Avenue; and all that portion of the alley extending, north,7esterly through Block 9, of Secti;n 5, Balboa Island, from the northerly line of Central Avenue to the easterly line of Abalone Avenue, and all that portion of the - 1 - first alley lying, northerly of 0entral`Avenue from the westerly • line of Abalone Avenue to the westerly line of Block 8, of Section 5, Balboa Island. SECTION II. That the public work herein provided for, is the closing up of the portions of the street and alleys herein described in Section one, and it appearing to the Board of Trustees that there are no costs; damages or expense occasioned by or arising out of said work, and that no assessment is necessary to pay the costs, damages or expenses of said work, and that therefore no assessment district of lands to be affected or benefited by said work or improvement is necessary. SECTION III The Street Superintendent of the City of Newport.Beach is hereby directed to cause to be conspicuously posted along, the line of said contemplated improvement, at not more than three hundred feet in distance apart upon said street, and.not less than three in all upon said street, notices of the passage of this resolution, said notice to be headed, "NOTICE OF PUBLIC 'IORK ", in letters not less than one inch in length and stating the fact of the passage of this resolution, its date and briefly the work of improvement proposed, being that of vacating the portionsof Abalone Avenue and alleys herein described, and the said notice shall refer to this resolution for further particulars; the said Street Superintendent shall also cause a similar notice to that herein • described to be published by four succes^ive insertions in the • Newport News, a weekly newspaper printed., published and circulated in said City of Newport Beach (there being no daily neerspaper so printed, published and circulated in said City). — 2 — U -v SECTION IV. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and cause a minute thereof to be recorded in the min- utes of the meeting of the Board of Trustees at which this Reso- lution was passed.
