A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING THE CONTRACT
FOR CERTAIN WORK ON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF PARK
AVENUE AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS AND AVENUES
ON BALBOA ISLAND WITHIN SAID CITY.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do
resolve as follows:
SECTION I.
That this Board hereby finds and declares that

bidder for the work hereinafter described, and this Board hereby
awards the contract for said work to the said h G e/ y /1/,

For Ornamental Granite Concrete Lamp post, together with
concrete base and other appurtenances, com-
plete, each %7 OD
For Junction Box with concrete base, complete, each
For 3/4" Diam. Sheridized Iron Conduit, with on #No. 6
lead covered cable installed on the inside
of said conduit, complete, per lineal foot 41.3
For 1 1/2° Diam. Sheridized Iron Conduit with two
No. 6 lead covered cable installed on the
inside of said conduit, complete, per lineal
foot . . . . . . $ D. 53
All other bids for said work are hereby rejected, and the
City Clerk is hereby directed to return to the respective bidders
all checks accompanying said rejected bids.
The work hereinbefore referred to is described as follows:
That granite concrete ornamental lighting posts, con-
duits, wires and appurtenances for the successful operation of an
ornamental street lighting system be constructed upon the following
streets:

of the .center line of Park Avenue to the West Promenade of Grand
Canal, and from the East Promenade of Grand Canal to East Promenade;
Y. Upon North Promenade from the westerly prolongatimn
of the center line of Park Avenue to the West Promenade of Grand
Canal;
Z. Upon East Promenade from the East Promenade of Grand
Canal to the South Promenade;
AA. Upon the West Promenade of Grand Canal from South
Promenade to North Promenade;
BB. Upon East Promenade of the Grand Canal �Omm the
South Promenade to East Promenade;
all as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No.
323, as adopted by the Board of Trustees of said City, on the 16th
day of February, 1925, and on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said City. For further particulars, reference is hereby made
to said Resolution of Intention No. 323, and to the plans, profiles,
drawings and cross - sections on file in the office of the City En-
gineer of said City, and according to the specifications on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said City, and all of said plans,
profiles, drawings, cross - sections and specifications heretofore
approved by said Board of Trustees are incorporated herein and
made a part hereof, and feference is hereby made thereto for a more

particular description of said work.
SECTION II.
Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent
unpaid assessments, and bear interest at the rate of seven (7)
per cent per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided
by the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, the last installment of which
bonds shall mature fourteen (14) years from the second day of July
next succeeding ten (10) months from their date.
SECTION III.
The said Board of Trustees also determined and declared
that the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore mentioned
was, in the opinion of the said Board of Trustees, of more than
local or ordinary public benefit, and the expense of said work and
improvement has been made chargeable upon a district. For a par-
ticular description of said district, reference is hereby made to
said Resolution of Intention.
SECTION IV.
The Clerk of this Board is hereby directed to publish a
notice of this award twice in the Newport News, a semi - weekly
newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City, and here-
by designated for that purpose, (there being no daily newspaper
published in said.City).
