HomeMy WebLinkAbout356 - Central Avenue ImprovementsRESOLUTION NO. 3S �• A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ORDERING THE IMPROVEMENT OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF CENTRAL AVENUE AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS AND ALLEYS WITHIN SAID CITY. The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do resolve as follows: SECTION I. That the public interest and convenience require the work hereinafter described to be done, and therefore the said Board of Trustees hereby order the following work to be done and improvement to be made in said City, to-wit- The grading and construction of cement concrete pavement, cement concrete curbs, cement concrete sidewalks and otherwise improving portions of Central Avenue, C- Street, D- Street, E- Street, F- Street, G- Street, H- Street, I- Street, J- Street and R- Street, and the grading and surfacing with clay and gravel of certain alleys, and the construction of concrete,ornamental lighting posts, con- duits, wire and appurtenances for the successful operation of an ornamental lighting system along portions of Central Avenue, in said City, all as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 348, as adopted by the Board of Trustees of said City, on the 2nd day of November, 1925, and on file in the office of the City plans, profiles, drawings, cross - sections and specifications here- - 1 - Clerk of said City. For further particulars, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 348, and to the plans, profiles, drawings and cross- sections on file in the office of the 4 City Engineer of said City, and according to the specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and all of said plans, profiles, drawings, cross - sections and specifications here- - 1 - tof ore approved by said Board of -Trustees are incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of said work. SECTION II The said Board of Trustees that serial bonds shall be issued to twenty -five (25) dollars or more rem; days after the date of warrant. For said bonds, reference is hereby made also determined and declared represent each assessment of 3.ining unpaid for twenty (20) a particular description of to said Resolution of Intention. SECTION III. The said Board of Trustees also determined and declared that the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore mentioned was, in the opinion of the said Board, of more than local_\ or ordinary public benefit and the expense of said work and improve- ment has been made chargeable upon a district. For a particular description of said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention. SECTION IV. That sealed bids for said work shall be received up to 7:30 o'clock, P.K. of the 14th day of December, 1925, at which time said bids will be publAr ly opened, examined and declared by this Board. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice in- viting sealed bids for said work with the specifications therefor, conspicuously for five days, on or near the council chamber door of this Board, and to publish a like notice referring to the specifications posted, or on file, twice in the Newport News, a semi - weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City, and hereby designated for that purpose, (there being no daily newspaper in said City). - 2 - r t Passed by the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport B:each-'th_is day of 1925. t President of the Board o ru tees.
