HomeMy WebLinkAbout371 - Coast Boulevard & Other Improvementsy., L RESOLUTION N0. 3�• i A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, ORDERING THE IMPROVE- MENT OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF COAST BOULEVARD AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS AND AVENUES IN CORONA DEL MAR, WITHIN SAID CITY. - - -0 - -- The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do resolve as follows: SECTION I. That the public interest and convenience require the work hereinafter described to be done, and therefore the said Board of Trustees hereby order the following work to be done and improvement to be made in said City, to -wit: The grading and construction of macadam pavement, cement concrete curbs, cement concrete gutters, and cement concrete side- walks, and otherwise improving portions of Acacia Avenue, Begonia Avenue, Carnation Avenue, Dahlia Avenue, Fernleaf Avenue, Goldenrod Avenue, Heliotrope Avenue, Iris Avenue, Jasmine Avenue, Larkspur Avenue, Marguerite Avenue, Marigold Avenue, Narcissus Avenue, Orchid Avenue, Pansy Avenue, Poppy Avenue, Hazel Drive, Pacific Drive and Avocado Avenue; and the grading and construction of cement concrete pavement, cement concrete curb and cement concrete sidewalk, and otherwise improving portions of Avocado Avenue, Acacia Avenue, Begonia Avenue, Carnation Avenue, Dahlia Avenue, Heliotrope Avenue, Iris Avenue, Jasmine Avenue, Larkspur Avenue, Narcissus Avenue, Pansy Avenue, Poppy Avenue, Water Front Drive, 94ze/ r /vet First Avenue, and Pacific Drive; and the construction of cement concrete cross gutters across certain portions of Fernleaf Avenue and Goldenrod Avenue; and the grading and construction of cement concrete curb and cement concrete pavement and otherwise improving certain, portions of Coast Boulevard; and the grading and con- struction of cement concrete curbs and cement concrete gutters, and otherwise improving certain portions of First Avenue, Second Avenue, - 1 - • 9 o• . Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue; and the grading and oonstruotion of oement oonorete pavement and oement oonorete ourb, and otherwise improving oertain portions of Canyon Drive, Paoifio Drive and County Road, and the oonstruotion of guard fenoes aoross oertain portions of Dahlia Avenue, Fernleaf Avenue, Goldenrod Avenue, Iris Avenue, Jasmine Avenue and Larkspur Avenue, inoluding the oonstruotion of reinforoed oonorete pipe oulverts, oatoh basins and other appur- tenanoes in oertain of the above mentioned streets; and the oon- struotion of oement oonorete steps, landings and inolined walkway in oertain portions of Begonia Avenue and Paoifio Drive, all as more partioularly desoribed in Resolution of Intention No. 370, as adopted by the Board of Trustees of said City on the 15th day of Maroh, 1926, and on file in the offioe of the City Clerk of said City. For further partioulars, referenoe is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 370, and to the plans, profiles, draw- ings and oross- seotions on file in the offioe of the City Engineer of said City, and a000rding to the speoifioations on file in the offioe of the City Clerk of said City, and all of said plans, pro- files, drawings, oross- seotions and speoifioations heretofore approved by said Board of Trustees are inoorporated herein and made a part hereof, and referenoe is hereby made thereto for a more partioular desoription of said work. SECTION II. Notioe is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and bear interest at the rate of seven (7) per oent per annum will be issued here under, in the manner PrQ- vided by the Improvement Bond Aot of 1915, the last installment of whioh bonds shall mature fourteen (14) years from the seoond day of July next suooeeding ten (10) months from their date. For a partioular desoription of said bonds, referenoe is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention. - 2 - y . i. �?' SECTION III • The said Board of Trustees also determined and declared that the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore mentioned was, in the opinion of the said Board, of more than local or or- dinary public benefit and the expense of said work and improve- ment has been made chargeable upon a district. For a particular description of said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention. SECTION IV. That sealed bids for said work shall be received up to 7 :30 o'clock, P.M. of the 26th day of April, 1926, at which time said bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared by this Board. The City Clerk is hereby.directed to post a notice in- viting sealed bids for said work with the specifications therefor, conspicuously, for five (5) days, on or near the Council Chamber door of this Board, and to publish a like notice referring to the specifications posted, or on file, twice in the Newport News, a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City, and hereby designated for that purpose, (there being no daily newspaper in said City). - - Passed by As Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach, this day of 1926. esident of th Boar�jd of Trustees ATTEST: ✓�� ��� " "�� Z��21 City Clerk.
