W1 <br />Councilman Ellsworth introduced a Resolution entitled: <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT <br />BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING AND DIRECTING THAT THE <br />IMPROVEMENT OF CHANNEL PLACE AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS <br />AND ALLEYS, AS DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION <br />N0, 558, BE DONE UNDER THE DIRECTION AND SUPERVISION <br />OF THE CITY ENGINEER. <br />The Resolution was read, considered, designated RESOLUTION <br />NO. 575 and upon call of the roll passed by the following vote, to -wit: <br />AYES, Councilmen Kilmer, Claire, Ellsworth, Williamson, <br />Johnson. <br />NOES, Councilmen None. <br />ABSENT, Councilmen None. <br />On motion of Councilman Claire seconded by Councilman <br />Sllsworth and carried, the Clerk was instructed to send a copy of <br />t report of the Chief of Police and Police Committee on the Wine <br />To 'c .and Dance Hall matters, to the two ladies organizations <br />requ sting that something be done about it. <br />There being no further business on motion of Councilmee}}ff// <br />William n seconded by Councilmen Ellsworth and carried, the me�ti <br />adjourned ine'Die. / <br />Approved February 1930 <br />r� C Clerk. <br />City Hal` , Newppt Beach, Calif., Feb. 3, 1930. <br />The City Council o ft he Ci of Newport Beach met in regular <br />session at 7 :30 o'clock P. The meeting was called <br />to order by Mayor Johnson. <br />The roll was called sho ing al members present except <br />Councilman Williamson. <br />The minutes of the p vious meeti were read aid approved <br />as read. <br />On motion of Counc man Ellsworth se onded by Councilman <br />Claire .and carried, the re ar order of busine was suspended to <br />take up the opening of bi for Channel Place. <br />The City Engin r reported to the Counci that the bidders <br />were having some diffic ty in getting quotations o the bonds for <br />the proposed improveme of Channel Place and other rests under <br />Resolution of Intents No. 558, and recommended that 1 bids be <br />returned unopened a that the Clerk be directed to rea ertiee for <br />bide, as he believ that a later bidding would result i more <br />eatis�actory pric . <br />Thereu n, upon motion of Councilman Paul B.
