HomeMy WebLinkAbout575 - Channel Place & Other ImprovementsW1 Councilman Ellsworth introduced a Resolution entitled: RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING AND DIRECTING THAT THE IMPROVEMENT OF CHANNEL PLACE AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS AND ALLEYS, AS DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION N0, 558, BE DONE UNDER THE DIRECTION AND SUPERVISION OF THE CITY ENGINEER. The Resolution was read, considered, designated RESOLUTION NO. 575 and upon call of the roll passed by the following vote, to -wit: AYES, Councilmen Kilmer, Claire, Ellsworth, Williamson, Johnson. NOES, Councilmen None. ABSENT, Councilmen None. On motion of Councilman Claire seconded by Councilman Sllsworth and carried, the Clerk was instructed to send a copy of t report of the Chief of Police and Police Committee on the Wine To 'c .and Dance Hall matters, to the two ladies organizations requ sting that something be done about it. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Johnson. The roll was called sho ing al members present except Councilman Williamson. The minutes of the p vious meeti were read aid approved as read. On motion of Counc man Ellsworth se onded by Councilman Claire .and carried, the re ar order of busine was suspended to take up the opening of bi for Channel Place. The City Engin r reported to the Counci that the bidders were having some diffic ty in getting quotations o the bonds for the proposed improveme of Channel Place and other rests under Resolution of Intents No. 558, and recommended that 1 bids be returned unopened a that the Clerk be directed to rea ertiee for bide, as he believ that a later bidding would result i more eatis�actory pric .
