A. s 1 RESOLUTION N0. 6 oil, RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALLING A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY OF NEVPORT BEACH ON' _, THE 2" DAY OF E 19309 FOR THE MURPOSE OF SUB ING TO THE QUA IF 4 ELECTORS OF SAID CITY A CERTAIN PROPOSITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN NEW UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO SAID CITY, FIXING THE PRECINCTS AND POLLING PLACES FOR TM 11OLDIM OF SAID ELECTION AND APPOINTING OFFICERS FOR SAID ELECTION, AND FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION. WHEREAS, on the 3 day of 1930, there was presented and filed with the City Council of the City of Newport Beach a petition for the annexation of certain new uninhabited territory to and by said City of Newport Beach, which said new uninhabited territory is hereinafter more particularly des- cribed; and WHEREAS, the said City Council of the City of Newport Beach did, on the 11th day of March, 1930, by a written notiop, notify the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange, State of California, that there had been filed with said City Council of said City, of Newport Beach, a petition for the annexation of certain new uninhabited territory to and by the said City of Newport Beach, all as required by law; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange, State of California, did, upon receiving the notification of the filing of said petition by said City Council of the City of Newport Beach, cause notice to be published for a period of not __lpssthan five days, in the SANTA ANA TIMES, a daily news- paper, printed, published and circulated in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, and which said newspaper is a newspaper of general circulation in the Otty of Santa.Ana, :County of Orange, State of California; that said published notice -1r 1 • 2 4 5 6 7 s. 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 ]7 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 ROLAND THOMPSOA �RONNOI Al LAM OANTA ANA, CALIF. 1 of set forth by general desoriptio N the. lands sought to be annexed to and by the said City of Newport Beach, and further contained the time and place when and where objections to said annexation would be heard, all as required by law, and. ti`7HEREAS, the time and place when and where objections or protests to said annexation of said new uninhabited territory to and by the City of Newport Beach, would be heard, was. fixed by said Board of Supervisors of-the County of Orange, State of California, as and for the 18th day of March, 1930, at the hour of ,ten .o +clock A. M. of said day, at the Council Chambers of said Board of Supervisors at the County Court House in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California; and WHMAS, no written protests having been. filed with the Board of Supervisors, and no protests, remonstranoes or objeotio having been made, either written or verbal, to th;, annexation by said .City of Newport Beach of the hereinafter described new uninhabited territory, the said Board of Supervisors thereupon duly passed and adopted a resolution of said Board, bging Resolution No. of the Hoard of Supervisors. of the County; of Orange, a certified,copy of which said resolution is on file 4erein, consenting to the annexation of the hereinafter described new uninhabited territory to and by the City of Newport Beach, a Municipal-Corporation of the sixth class of Orange County, California. Beginning at a point.. in the present City Boundary line of Newport Beach, which point is the northeast corner of Lot "H" Tract 919, as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 29, pages 31 to 34 inclusive, records of Orange County, California, which point is also the southwest corner of the 80 foot strip of the State Highway right of way as deeded by Deed recorded in Deed Boo 506, page 334, Records of said County, running thence along the State Highway right of way as deeded by deed recorded in Deed Book 338, page 314, Official Records of said County, southeasterl on the aro of a curve concave to the northeast having a radius of 906.33 feet (a radial line at the point of beginning bearing north 470 331 25" Eait)a distance of 504.85 feet; thence oontinu- ing along the last mentioned southerly line of said State Highway right of way, tangent south 740 21' 30" East 1252.22 feet; thence continuing along the last mentioned right of way line along a curve concave to the north having a radius of 1550 feet, a dis- tance of 379.64 feet; thence continuing along the last mentioned right of way line tangent south 880 231 30" east, a distance of 201.35 feet to a point in the southeasterly line of the parcel of land as deeded to the City of Newport Beach by deed recorded in .Deed Book 249, page 423., records of said County; thence south 290 001 west along the last mentioned southeasterly line and the southwesterly prolongation thereof a distance of 970:81 feet to an intets4otion with the present City boundary line; thence north 61° 001 west along the present City boundary line a distance of 2340.98 feet to an angle point in the present City boundary line; thence continuing along the present City boundary line north 39° 441 50" East, a distance of 488.29 feet to the point of beginning. PARCEL II Beginning at an angle point in the present City boundary line, which point is north 460 37' east, a distance of 172'.81 f from station 150 in the U. S. Government Bulkhead line as laid o and shown upon a map,of Newport Beach showing Harbor lines, approved by the war Department January 18, 1917, and on file in the office of the District Engineer in Los Angeles, California; thence north 380 231 20" east a distance of 255.16 feet to a point in the U. S. And WEEMS, under the law it is the duty of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach to submit to the electors of said City, the question of whether or not said new uninhabited territory shall be annexed to, and incorporated in, and made a part of said city. NOW0 THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEACH DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That a special municipal election be held and the same is hereby called to be held in the City of Newport Beach on the agd day of r% , 1930, for the purpose of submitting thereat, to the qualified electors of maid Qity, the question of whether or not the new uninhabited terri- tory heretofore described, shall be annexed to, and incorporated In, and made a part of said City of Newport Beach, Section 2. That said proposition to be voted on at said election so to be held as aforesaid is as follows:: "Shall that certain new uninhabited territory contiguous to the City of Newport Beach, on its northerly boundary line, in Orange County, California, .and being City owhad property, be annexed to, and incorporated in, and made a part of the. City of Newport Beach?lt ,Section 3. !*Aaat the polls for said election must open at six (6) o'clock A. M. of the date of said election, and must be kept open Until seven (7) otol,00k P. M. of the same day, when the polka shall be closed, provided, however, that it at the hour of closing there are any other voters in the polling .place or in line at the door; who are qualified to vote and have ndt been able to do so since appearing, the polls shall be kept open a sufficient time to enable them to vote, but no one 'who shall arrive at the polling place after seven (7) o'clock F.
