RESOLUTION NO. 696
r' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ORDERING
THE SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS OF SAID
CITY TO PREPARE A REPORT AND AN AMEND-
ED ASSESSMENT OF ASSESSMENT NO. 2714
FOR THE SEWER IMPROVEMENT IN CENTRAL
AVENUE AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS AS PER
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 133.
WHEREAS, an assessment to cover the cost and ex-
penses of the construction of sewers in Central Avenue and
certain other streets in the City of Newport Beach, as pro-
vided in Resolution of Intention No. 133 adopted by the Board
of Trustees of said City on the 6th day of July, 1920, was
made by the Superintendent of Streets of said City and duly
recorded in his office on the 15th day of July, 1922;
AND WHEREAS, the said Resolution of Intention and the
said assessment provided that the improvement was to be done
under the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 191111, and that
bonds would issue on all unpaid assessments bearing interest
at the rate of 7% per annum in the manner provided by the
"Improvement Bond Act of 1915 ", the last installment of which
bonds were to mature fourteen (14) years from the 2nd day of
July next succeeding nine (9) months from their date;
AND WHEREAS, certain property as represented by
Assessment No. 2714 in said assessment was assessed therein
as Assessment No. 2714 for the total sum of $60720.94;
AND WHEREAS, there now remains an unpaid balance of
said amount as represented by said Assessment No. 2714, exclu-
sive of the year 1931 collection, the aggregate sum of $3,136.42;
AND WHEREAS, since the recording of said assessment
a portion of the property represented by said Assessment No. 2714
herein referred to has been subdivided into lots and certain

portions of said subdivisio* are now laid out into streets
and alleys and dedicated to the public use as and for street
purposes, and a request has been.presented to this City Council
to have said Assessment No. 2714 herein referred to; segregated
and apportioned according to the present subdivision and un-
subdivided portion of the land as represented by said Assess-
ment No. 2714, pursuant to subdivision (b) of Section 14 of.the
said "Improvement Bond Act of 1915";
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach as follows:
That the Superintendent of Streets of said City be
and he is hereby ordered to prepare a report and an amended
assessment of sald.Assessment No. 2714 for the improvement of
Central Avenue and other streets, as provided in said Resolu-
tion of Intention No. 133, pursuant to and in accordance with
subdivision (b) of Section 14 of the "Improvement Bond Act of
1915 ", said amended assessment to be upon the lots and lands
of the subdivision and the unsubdivided portion, which now
cover the property represented by said Assessment No. 2714,
and the Superintendent of Streets is further directed to file
the said report and amended assessment with the City Clerk of
the said City as provided in said Section 14.
