RESOLUTION N0. ,'J
WHEREAS, the public necessity and interest of
the people of the City of Newport Beach, require the acquisition
of the real property hereinafter described,for water reservoir
storage purposes, and for that purpose and for such public use
it is necessary that the City of Newport Beach acquire that
certain parcel or piece of land hereinafter described by
condemnation, namely, the following described real property
situate in the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of
California, and more particularly described as follows:
All that portion of Lot 1013 of First Addition
to Newport Mesa Tract as recorded in Book 8, page 61 of
Miscellanoues Maps, Records of Orange County, California,
described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the southwest.corner of Lot 1013
of said First Addition to Newport Mesa Tract running thence
north along the west line of said lot 1013, 149.8 feet to
a point which point is a southwest corner of that certain
parcel of land as described in Deed to the City of Newport
Beach Beach from the Newport Beach Water Company, recorded
November 19, 1910, in Book 194, page 181 of Deeds, Records
of Orange County, California; thence east along the south
line of the last mentioned parcel of land 290 feet; thence
south along a line parallel to said west line of Lot 1013,
149.8 feet to an intersection with the south line of said
Lot 1013; thence west along the south line of said Lot
10132 290 feet to the point of beginning, containing one
acre, more or less.
Further reference is hereby made to the City
Engineer's map No. on file herein, on which the
location of said parcel of land herein described is accurately
shown.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That it is the
finding and determination of the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that the public interest and necessity require
the acquisition by the City of Newport Beach of that certain
piece or parcel of land hereinbefore described, for a public

purpose, . namely, for the purpose of water storage and reservoir
purposes.
EE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said piece or
parcel of land hereinbefore described be condemned for a public
purpose, namely, for water storage purposes and the construction
of a reservoir thereon, and the City Attorney of the City of
Newport Beach is hereby directed to institute proceedings in the
Superior Court of the State of Calif ania, in m1d for the County
of Orange, for the condemnation of said parcel of land herein -
before described, for public purposes, to -wit, for the purpose
of water storage, and to take all necessary steps for the
condemnation of said pieces or parcels of land in the name of
said city.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing
Resolution was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Newport Beach, at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 24th day of August, 1931, by the following
vote, to -wit:
