RESOLUTION NO. —1i
DECLARING RESULT OF ELECTION
WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held and
conducted in the City of Newport Beach, Orange County, Calif
on Monday, the 11th day of April, 1932, as required by law; and
WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was duly
and regularly given; that voting precincts were properly es-
tablished; that election officers were appointed and election
supplies furnished, and that in all respects said election was
held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received and can-
vassed and the returns thereof made and declared in time, form
and manner as required by the laws of the State of California,
governing elections in cities of the sixth class; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
met at the council chambers of the City Council on Monday, the
18th day of April, 1932, to canvass the returns of said election
and install the newly elected officers, as a result of which the
City Council finds that the number of votes cast, the names of
the persons voted for and other matters required by law to be
as hereinafter stated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That said general
municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Newport
Beach on Monday, the 11th day of April, 1932, in time, form and
manner as required by law; that there were seven (7) voting
precincts established for the purpose of holding said election,
consisting of the regular election precincts for holding general
state and county elections, as follows, to -wit:
Precinct No. 1 Maskey's Real Estate Office,
36th Street and Coast Boulevard,
Newport Beach, California.

City Councilman of the City of Newport Beach for the full term
of four years.
Also that Paul B. Ellsworth, was elected to the office
of City Councilman of the City of Newport Beach for the full
term of four years.

Also that Irvin Geo. Gordon, was elected to the office
of City Councilman of the City of Newport Beach for the full
term of four years.
Also that Frank L, Rinehart was elected to the office of
City Clerk of the.City of Newport Beach for the full term of four
years.
Also that J. A. Gant, was elected to the office of
Treasurer of the City of Newport Beach for the full term of four
years.
RESOLVED further, that as a result of said election, the
following proposition was defeated, to -wit:
"Shall Ordinance No. 399 providing for the levy and
collection for each fiscal year of a tax of $.05
on each $100.00 for advertising purposes in lieu of
the tax of $.10 on each $100.00 for advertising
purposes as provided for in Ordinance No. 334 of
the City of Newport Beach, be adopted?"
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly passed by the City Council of the City of Newport
JIBeach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of April,
