RESOLUTION N0. 0 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, FIXING THE RATE PER CENTUN AND LEVYING A TAX UPON ALL OF THE. TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH WHICH IS TAXABLE THEREIN FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES. The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does resolve and declare as follows: 1st. Resolved, that there be and is hereby levied upon all of the taxable property within the City of Newport Beach which is taxable therein for municipal purposes, a tax for the purpose of raising the necessary money with which to carry on the various departments of the City of Newport Beach for the current fiscal year: 2nd. Resolved, that the rate per centum of the tax hereinafter levied shall be and is. hereby fixed as the sum of One.Dollar: three cents ($1.03) on each one hundred dollars of value designated for each fund as follows: For the current expense fund - ---- One Dollar ($1.00) For the library fund = ------ - - ---- Three cents(yo .03) Total tax levy-------------- - - ---- One Dollar three cents ($1.03). 3rd. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes herein levied for municipal purposes, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable property within the City of Newport Beach a tax for the purpose of raising the necessary and sufficient money to pay the annual interest on all issued, outstanding and unpaid municipal bonds of the City of Newport Beach, and also isuch part of the principal thereof as shall become due before the time for fixing the next general tax levy in and for said 1 City, the rate hereby levied for said pruposes is fixed at twenty- _19- 2 four cents on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of value, 3 and the same shall be collected at the same time and in the same 4 manner as all other municipal taxes are collected excepting upon 5 property annexed at an election held the 11th day of February, 6 1924, and known as Corona Del Mar, provided,.that the said taxes herein levied shall be exclusive of any tax levied for the payment ,Z-°d fic c 8 of interest and principal of- $260,000.00 bonds of the City of 9 Newport Beach issued and sold for the completion of the municipal S ^Oaf/ c d. to water system thereof, and.;000.00 bonds for the city of -11 Newport Beach issued and sold for the construction and improvement 12 of jetties in the City of Newport Beach and known as the Jetty 13 Bonds of 1927, and $iSSA,000.00 bonds of the City of Newport Beach, 14 for the acquisition, construction and completion, by the City of 15 Newport Beach, of a certain municipal improvement, to -wit, the is improvement of the municipal harbor by deepening and dredging the 17 channel,.and by the acquisition and construction of various 18 groins for the purpose of controlling the tide and protecting the 19 existing jetties and shore lands, and including for said purpose 20 the acquisition of lands and rights of way, which said bonds are 21 known and designated as Newport Beach Harbor Improvement Bonds of 22 4th. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes 23 herein levied for municipal purposes there is hereby levied on 24 all of the taxable property within the City of Newport Beach a 25 -tax for the purpose of raising the neoeseary and suffioient money 26 to pay the annual interest on 4M 000600 bonds of the City of 27. CALM Ilof Newport Beach, issued and sold for the erection and construct lof jetties and the improvement of said jetties, issued, outs land unpaid of the city of Newport Beach.; and known as the Jetty (Bonds of 1927, and also such part of the principal thereof as shall become due before the time of fixing the.next general tax levy in and for said City, and for the further purpose of paying the 14-o ac'&1.6 4 annual interest of $160,000.00 bonds of the city of Newport Beach, is ,sued and sold for the improvement of the harbor of .the city of Newport Beach, and the construction of various groins for the purpose of controlling the tide and protecting the existing jetties and shore lands, issued, outstanding and unpaid of the ci of Newport Beach, and known as the Newport Beach Harbor Impr Bonds of 1929, and also such part of the principal thereof as shall become due before the time of fixing the next general tax levy in and for said City.•(, / i The rate of tax hereby levied for the purpose of paying the interest and principal of said water bonds and said jetty bonds, and said Newport Beach Harbor Improvement Bonds of 1929, as aforesaid, is hereby fixed at seventy cents -f9efj on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of value. 5 �h. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes herein levied there is hereby levied on all the taxable property within.the city of Newport Beach a tax of ten cents (10¢) on each one hundred dollars ($100600) for advertising purposes, pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 144 submitted to and carried by a majority of the votes of all.the voters voting at an election held for the purpose of voting for or against said ordinance on the 24th day of September, 1918. 6th. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes herein levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable property within the Municipal Improvement District No. 1 of the City of Newport Beaoh, a tax of three cents ('3t) on L each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation for the payment of semi- annual interest on.and the redemption of the bonds of .said district. 8th. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes herein levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable property within Municipal Improvement District No. 2 of the City of Newport Beach, a tax of eighteen fT&)' cents on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation for the payment of semi - annual interest on and the redemption of the bonds of said .district. 9th. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes herein.levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable property within Municipal Improvement District No. 3 of the City of Newport Beach a tax of fifty-five oents wp y- on each one hundred dollars ($100.00.),of assessed valuation for the payment of eemi- annual interest on and the redemption of the bonds of said district. 10th. The above and foregoing Resolutionwas passed, adopted and approved by the City Council of the city of Newport Beach at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of September, 1935, by the following vote, to -wit: AYES, COUNCILMEN: e NOES, COUNCILMEN: ABSENT, COUNCILMEN; The above and foregoing Resolution No. q{T is approved by me this 2nd day of September, 1935.
