RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING AND DI-
RECTING THAT THE CONSTRUCTION OF CEMENT CON_
CRETE BULKHEAD AND OTHER WORK AND IMPROVEMENT
IN AND AROUND BALBOA ISLAND IN SAID CITY, AS
DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 918,
BE DONE UNDER THE DIRECTION AND SUPERVISION
OF THE CITY ENGINEER.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, did on the 2nd day of December, 1935 pass
and adopt Resolution No,-19-R_, ordering the work set forth
and described in Resolution of Intention No, 918, adopted on
the 12th day of November, 1935 by the said City Council,
pursuant to proceedings initiated under the provisions of
the "Improvement Act of 1911" and amendments thereto, for
the construction of cement concrete bulkhead and appurtenances,
cement concrete sidewalk, cast iron pipe storm drains and
appurtenances, cement concrete curb inlets and appurtenances,
reinforced concrete coping on top of existing concrete bulk-
head, the moving and installation on top of said bulkhead
and coping of certain existing concrete ornamental light posts,
togetner with wires, cables, conduit and other suitable and
necessary appliances for the purpose of street lighting, and
the construction of five (5) public piers of wooden and
cement concrete construction, including piles, decks, guard
cables, conduits, King lanterns (Design No.1241), and suitable
rails and
floating moorings., with
structures and
appliances
necessary
and convenient thereto,
together with
posts, wires,
cables, conduits, King lanterns (Design No.1241), and suitable

and necessary appliances for the purpose of lighting said
public piers in the said City of Newport Beach, and the said
City Council desiring that the said work and improvement be
done under the direction of the City Engineer and that the
materials used shall comply with the specifications and be
to the satisfaction of the City Engineer instead of the
Superintendent of Streets;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach, California, does hereby resolve and direct that
the work of improvement hereinbefore mentioned be done under
the direction of the City Engineer of the City of Newport
Beach, and that the materials used shall be in compliance with
the specifications and be to the satisfaction of the City
Engineer of the said City instead of the Superintendent of
Streets, and the Superintendent of Streets of the said City
is hereby directed to include a provision to that effect in
the contract which he shall hereafter make covering the said
proposed improvement,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach, California, at a regular adjourned meeting
thereof held on the 2nd day of December, 1935, by the follow-
ing vote, to-wit:
