RESOLUTION NO. fZ14
WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the
City Council of the city of Newport Beach a certain Agreement
for Expenditure of 1/4 cent Gas Tax on State Highways, wherein
the city of Newport Beach is referred to as the City, and the
Department of Public Works of the State of California, is
referred to as the Department; and
WHEREAS, said agreement provides that in accordance
with the provisions of Section 203 of the Streets and Highways
Code, the Department shall expend or cause to be expended from
the State Highway fund, an amount not less than the net revenue
derived from one — quarter cent per gallon tax on motor vehicle
fuel, on State highways within cities, in the proportion that the
total population of each city bears to the total population
of all cities in this state; and
WHEREAS, said agreement further provides for the
projects and estimated expenditures therefor, as in said agreemeitI
listed and set forth; and
WHEREAS, said agreement further provides for the
maintenance of said projeots therein described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Newport
Beach deems that it is for the benefit and best interests of
said City that said agreement be entered into.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED% That the Mayor and
City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
authorized and instructed to execute said Agreement on behalf
of the City of Newport Beach, and that upon the execution of the
same, that the City Clerk return the original and one copy
thereof to the State.

City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 6th day-'of January, 1936, by the following
